Why can't people genuinely watch what they want?

I see a lot of people who liked Street Dancer mocked on Youtube and Twitter. There is an elitist section which believes in mocking other's tastes just to make themselves feel good. I myself may not have enjoyed the movie and felt it to be a pure waste of time, but I can't stop others from expressing their views.

I think people who watch movies only for entertainment are mocked by those who like content-driven movies and this gap is widening.

Do you people think there is a lack of tolerance for others' views on social media?

No offence, minty, but welcome to the real world. And if you think social media started a lack of tolerance for film-viewing tastes, you'd be wrong. They merely amplified what had been happening practically since 1995.

thats true..

i like mass movies the most because i like to be entertained

and if a film is giving me that then why not

people all pretend to be elitist to show off which makes no sense lol

Instead of a boring ass film with amazing acting, story

i would rather watch a movie with comedy, action, dance etc.

for me point of movies is to be entertained and not be sad again after watching a film. real life is sad enough.. why should i cry watching movies too.

I feel like people should be free to watch any film they want. You want to enjoy a light hearted comedy, feel free. You want to watch serious indie dramas, watch that. But there are some films, I judge people for. And Street Dancer 3D is definitely one of those films. 😆

Don't announce what you're watching and save your myself from being made fun of. No big deal.
