what happend to comedy movies?

i swear theres are no comedy films in bollywood nowdays what happend? the only person whos movies are funny is Ayushmann Khurrana and his movies are not even supposed to be full on comedy yet it still shits on literally all the comedy films that are releasing nowdays

I miss Priyadarshan's and David Dhawan's comedy movies. Aaj kal comedy k naam pe below the belt jokes serve hote h and I hate that. Wo family comedy films ka zamana hi kuch aur tha.

i agree but i dont see Hungama 2 being good

era changes, in 80s was action era, then people got bore and romantic movies rule then 2000 comedy cameback then people got bored then action returned, its phase people want something different.

I cannot wait for Priyadarshan's comeback to Bollywood. He made some brilliant comedies and he's not the kind of filmmaker who will come under pressure of producers and actors to alter his vision.

I had huge hopes from David Dhawan after Partner...even Main Tera Hero was good...but since Judwaa 2 it looks like Varun's calling the shots for everything now.

Partner was good, but a total unofficial copy of Hitch.

Yeah i know. David's made many remakes...but they were well done. Can't say the same about Judwaa 2...and I have a feeling Coolie won't match up to the first one.

I miss Priyadarshan's comedy movies. Still don't have much hope from Hungama 2 though.

It's been ages since an even average comedy film was released. All of them nowadays are from Aneez Bazmi who is really shitty at comedy 🤢

We grew up. Slapstick comedy is not funny anymore.

I mean I loved Welcome so much 😆 Even De Dana Dan and all those silly movies.

I guess my tastes evolved, so I don't find that shit funny anymore.

Rohit Shetty types toh I never got the appeal of his films (Chennai Express was moderately funny and his Golmaal 1 was fun too - but that's it, I didn't enjoy any of his other trash).

I feel silly comedy could still work if there is something new plot ,well written screenplay,characters....
