I think Neil is a chef, he is rich as confirmed in the coffee date episode, but I think while working in a five star hotel he may have been framed of something and is now trying to work in different hotels and leaves them as well because of that framing which explains the sau khoon maaf thing for the omelette mini will get to know it but will still have him as her head chef because he is a good cook.
