Someone feels the same like me.

I generally don't ask my family also to prepare anything. My sister used to give a list to be prepared. Now that she is not here this year, I strictly told not to do anything special in my home too.

They would by default. Everyone in the office would get a common birthday mail every day with a list of names of people celebrating their birthdays that day. So everyone in our office would know about it after that mail.
