AHHHHHHHH OMG YAY YOU UPDATED !!!!! So i’m working from home today.. quickly went on the IPKKND forum, saw you updated the chapter name, grinned, read your comment to my previous comment, grinned some more, saw you legit posted an update, grinned and shook my legs on the bed upwards (i’m so bad with words but i hope that made sense LOL).. and then totally just left my laptop out and started reading the update !!!
WOW.. i never realise just how excited i get when you update until there’s an actual update! This chapter was so so good!!! Khushi is such a beauty man !!! .. so the beginning!! I thought you were talking about Arnav there until it became clear the guy is an arrogant, aggravated psycho. Reading that snippet was quite scary to be honest. I felt scared for Khushi reading it.. Shyaam slamming items, glaring, being patronising. It is so flipping scary to read.. i was scared for Khushi and i’m grateful we didn’t get a specific scene with Shyaam raising his hands on her although I don’t know whether to assume he will do so (or in the current context, he has done so already?). This also got me wondering about something else.. apologies if it is inappropriate but have they “done” it? I’m just wondering because of the wording here.. the way you wrote “another night without him” - major paraphrasing there but these thoughts did come to mind. I realise this is important to read and understand because this type of abuse does exist unfortunately but my god, it’s so daunting! I’m so glad Khushi has left him but i can only imagine what he done/does in the future.. also once again, hats off for being able to write about such a topic in such a delicate and sophisticated manner. I mean.. damn !!
Everything about this FIC makes me so protective over Khushi. I loved her chastising herself for her reaction - argh my baby! She is so precious.. and then the fact that she goes up to Arnav and rambles and lets it all out !!! I specifically LOVED the way you spoke about Arnav’s reaction and his demeanor changes.. the way he crosses his arms against his chest.. the upturned smile.. argh SO FEELSY.. ngl i wanted to continue to hear Khushi rambling. The woman is just so lovely!!!! Also crap.. i forgot to mention the most softest thing - Arnav snubbing his cigarette.. for Khushi and for her to realise that. To see that someone is modifying their behaviour/habit for her was so so soft.. and i think it was equally soft for Arnav to realise Khushi notices things about him e.g. smoking before he heads home. Again.. so cute and soft and touching .. MY HEART !!! (Also LOL at Anjali and nani’s thing !!! I concur with them tho.. also a smoking Arnav is HAWT. But totally not cool because smoking is not cool.. but hawt.. but not cool. You see my dilemma?)
I love how he couldn’t help it.. it just had to come out. “Why did you resign” .. loved it loved it loved it !!! And her “why” .. it was almost diabolical that you ended the update here LOL.. because that was beautiful and intense and i am soooo ready to read on LOL!! But yes.. finally confrontation.. or no, more so communication! I cannot wait for the next update. Ecstatic!!!!
"also a smoking Arnav is HAWT. But totally not cool because smoking is not cool.. but hawt.. but not cool. You see my dilemma?"
I am legit laughing over here 🤣I am SO pleased that you found the smoking Arnav hawt. But in a way that doesn't condone the smoking. But I'm pleased nonetheless. Without condoning the smoking.😆
Your comment has truly left me grinning. Your way of describing what happened, and the reaction of the characters involved is just too cute. And do you know how crazy happy it makes me that the updates are so anticipated? You made me jolly, Jabeen 🤗
Coming to some very interesting points you raised- firstly, the physical abuse hasn't been explicitly mentioned yet. He has not hit Khushi in this scene. But you see, his behavior has been such that she has come to a point where she can expect it from him. Where for just a moment, seeing his livid form, she wondered if he might just do something terrible...and imo that also is abuse. To speak in more technical terms, a behavior that is deliberately threatening in a way that causes another to be alarmed about their bodily safety could qualify as criminal intimidation. Secondly, about the "doing it" bit. I don't know how much I can say without saying too much, but Khushi has been married to the man for several months. She is dreading having to again come up with an excuse of a headache or something, which indicates that these excuses have been frequent in the past- where they might, or might not have worked. It's a sensitive bit definitely, and I'll let future updates do further talking, but the focus right now is on the emotional abuse aspect more than the physical or sexual abuse aspects. Emotional abuse in itself can also be quite enough to wreck havoc in someone's life after all.
Thank you for such great insights, and for being a total cutie.
