So i’m working from home today.. quickly went on the IPKKND forum, saw you updated the chapter name, grinned, read your comment to my previous comment, grinned some more, saw you legit posted an update, grinned and shook my legs on the bed upwards (i’m so bad with words but i hope that made sense LOL).. and then totally just left my laptop out and started reading the update !!!

WOW.. i never realise just how excited i get when you update until there’s an actual update! This chapter was so so good!!! Khushi is such a beauty man !!! .. so the beginning!! I thought you were talking about Arnav there until it became clear the guy is an arrogant, aggravated psycho. Reading that snippet was quite scary to be honest. I felt scared for Khushi reading it.. Shyaam slamming items, glaring, being patronising. It is so flipping scary to read.. i was scared for Khushi and i’m grateful we didn’t get a specific scene with Shyaam raising his hands on her although I don’t know whether to assume he will do so (or in the current context, he has done so already?). This also got me wondering about something else.. apologies if it is inappropriate but have they “done” it? I’m just wondering because of the wording here.. the way you wrote “another night without him” - major paraphrasing there but these thoughts did come to mind. I realise this is important to read and understand because this type of abuse does exist unfortunately but my god, it’s so daunting! I’m so glad Khushi has left him but i can only imagine what he done/does in the future.. also once again, hats off for being able to write about such a topic in such a delicate and sophisticated manner. I mean.. damn !!

Everything about this FIC makes me so protective over Khushi. I loved her chastising herself for her reaction - argh my baby! She is so precious.. and then the fact that she goes up to Arnav and rambles and lets it all out !!! I specifically LOVED the way you spoke about Arnav’s reaction and his demeanor changes.. the way he crosses his arms against his chest.. the upturned smile.. argh SO FEELSY.. ngl i wanted to continue to hear Khushi rambling. The woman is just so lovely!!!! Also crap.. i forgot to mention the most softest thing - Arnav snubbing his cigarette.. for Khushi and for her to realise that. To see that someone is modifying their behaviour/habit for her was so so soft.. and i think it was equally soft for Arnav to realise Khushi notices things about him e.g. smoking before he heads home. Again.. so cute and soft and touching .. MY HEART !!! (Also LOL at Anjali and nani’s thing !!! I concur with them tho.. also a smoking Arnav is HAWT. But totally not cool because smoking is not cool.. but hawt.. but not cool. You see my dilemma?)

I love how he couldn’t help it.. it just had to come out. “Why did you resign” .. loved it loved it loved it !!! And her “why” .. it was almost diabolical that you ended the update here LOL.. because that was beautiful and intense and i am soooo ready to read on LOL!! But yes.. finally confrontation.. or no, more so communication! I cannot wait for the next update. Ecstatic!!!!

"also a smoking Arnav is HAWT. But totally not cool because smoking is not cool.. but hawt.. but not cool. You see my dilemma?"

I am legit laughing over here 🤣I am SO pleased that you found the smoking Arnav hawt. But in a way that doesn't condone the smoking. But I'm pleased nonetheless. Without condoning the smoking.😆

Your comment has truly left me grinning. Your way of describing what happened, and the reaction of the characters involved is just too cute. And do you know how crazy happy it makes me that the updates are so anticipated? You made me jolly, Jabeen 🤗

Coming to some very interesting points you raised- firstly, the physical abuse hasn't been explicitly mentioned yet. He has not hit Khushi in this scene. But you see, his behavior has been such that she has come to a point where she can expect it from him. Where for just a moment, seeing his livid form, she wondered if he might just do something terrible...and imo that also is abuse. To speak in more technical terms, a behavior that is deliberately threatening in a way that causes another to be alarmed about their bodily safety could qualify as criminal intimidation. Secondly, about the "doing it" bit. I don't know how much I can say without saying too much, but Khushi has been married to the man for several months. She is dreading having to again come up with an excuse of a headache or something, which indicates that these excuses have been frequent in the past- where they might, or might not have worked. It's a sensitive bit definitely, and I'll let future updates do further talking, but the focus right now is on the emotional abuse aspect more than the physical or sexual abuse aspects. Emotional abuse in itself can also be quite enough to wreck havoc in someone's life after all.

Thank you for such great insights, and for being a total cutie.

Thank you for the update. I honestly don't know how you are able to write two very different genres so effortlessly though what looks effortless I am sure is a result of all the hard work that you put in.

Coming to the update, what touched the most is the sentence " it's okay, I will be there". There are some instances in all our lives too that something somebody said would have made.your day and giving you the confidence to pull through whatever low you are going through. Khushi knew though her thoughts on the sentence were not correct, still it instilled the much needed confidence at that time.

I am so loving this chattering of Khushi and Arnav's reaction to it. Also Khushi's disbelief that somebody could do something just for her was heart wrenching.

Shyam's character is giving me dayya ho feels. Good she found a way out from that scoundrel's clutches.

How could you stop the story at a cliffhanger???😩Eagerly waiting for the next update.

Cheers!

A very happy new year to you too ❤️

Thank you so much for the sweet words. I'm so very grateful for the love that both stories are receiving, means a lot :)

Loved reading your thoughts on the chapter!

PI n US..Both the stories r ruling my heart..

Mujhe yaad hai zara zara..

Once u write an FF where Khushi leaves RM after Shyam's fiasco ..

It was about Arnav's redemption but in his akdoo style..

He threatens Khushi that he'll eat jalebis if she won't come to his car..

I dont remember the name..

Pls share it with us

I am so pleased to know that you're loving both the stories, thank you ❤️

And God! What story is this? 😆 I wrote a few very random things in the beginning that I don't even remember myself. The only one I remember is 'AK meet SB' and the reason for that is that I kind of maxed out in the crazy department with that one. I truly believe nothing I have ever written after that has been as messed up 😆 Thank you so much for remembering all my stories though, I am truly touched.

Thank you so much for this. I actually read your description and thought about it. You’ve mentioned it so simply yet it has such a robust impact. I guess it might be the idea with abuse, physical abuse is always the type that gets more talked about or is more alarming to people in comparison to emotional maybe.. because with emotional, a person can always say or be believed into thinking they are overreacting or reading too much into it whereas with physical, it is a matter of fact. It happened, you were hit, you know. It’s interesting then to myself at least to realise and question why i went to the physical aspect of abuse straight away.. although your

It’s almost so true you don’t even think about it.. which makes a person think about abuse and it’s effect all over again.. and i say this after reading your comment and replying one day later which hopefully emphasises how much i’ve been thinking about this. (Not that it takes one day.. more to actually understand what is being said) - for that, i thank you once again because you are helping me become a better person. To become more understanding and empathetic. To look at a situation in more ways than one .. argh have i mentioned how much i love your fic??? And lowkey also you (i mean come on??? You know)😳

Also to something more cheery - !!! Yayyy, i’m so glad i made you jolly !!!! That made me grin !!! My purpose on Indiaforums has been fulfilled haha !! ;)

Thanks for the superb update. Each chapter has at least one story of the protagonist. This chapter revealed what a leech shyam is , always on the look out to sponge father in law as well as wife’s money . Wonder how her parents found this guy to be suitable for their daughter .

After receiving the beautiful Christmas gifts from Arnav kushi decided to go to thank Arnav for the same. Kushi approached Arnav when he was standing in the lobby deep in thought .On seeing him kushi forgot her well - rehearsed speech she was going to tell him and ended up blabbering what all she could remember which in turn amused Arnav as he could not catch what she was telling him. From what he could decipher of what she said he realized she came to thank him as well as apologize to him thinking because of her comments he had to spend a lot of time to buy gifts for kushi Arnav lied to her assured her he was under no guilt .Where as in reality he was happy seeing her reaction on receiving the gifts.

We can see the equation between Arnav and kushi changing kushi seems to be occupying his thoughts lately especially when she told him how she was friendly with all the staff hence the he questioned her why did she resign kushi.

Kushi’s answer to that was equally confusing as to now why is he questioning her when earlier he did not ask the reason for quitting this job. Waiting to see how Arnav replies to her question

their bond is so much different and stronger then they know...........even before this trip, i think Arnav counted on Khushi and was hurt by her resignation in a way........

You're absolutely right. Physical abuse is much more visible, and leaves much less room for second guessing. Whereas like you said, with emotional abuse there is always this apprehension in the victim that they may be overreacting. It's much simpler to notice the red flags when the abuse is physical, maybe that's why our minds tend to go there first.

I'm touched that you gave it so much thought, and the pleasure is completely mine. Thank you SO much for leaving behind such insightful comments.

Love you too, highkey ;)
