You know Asim being unknown has worked more in his favour than for any past contestant I remember. His confidence is applauded more because he had no backing whatsoever. No idea about his popularity, still stood for what he thought was right at the time. He separated from Shukla knowing Shukla is being called " the backbone of the show". Every anti-shukla was bashed and all of them after a point, backed out. Asim didn't. That's what separates him from the rest of the herd.
I was going through old DDT of this season.(Don't ask why)
Someone mentioned in the episode where Asim and Shukla fought in the captaincy room that this is going to be the turning point of the season and Asim is going to win it. Half of that person's prediction has already come true, now I am waiting for the other half.

Anyway yes glad the newcomer has managed to rattle the king that he is running from one lady to another for footage while the waazir looks confident and sure of himself.
