Why I am rooting for Ayushman instead of Ranbir/Ranveer

First, Ayushman is a complete outsider. He has no connection with the industry, be it direct or indirect.

Second, he's made a formula of breaking the formula. In Bala, he looked anything but like a hero. Yet the film went on to gross over 100 crores. It shows people like him, regardless of how he looks.

Thirdly, he often tries to break the mould by doing an Andhahdun and/or Article 15. Both films hardly have any commercial elements.

Fourthly, he's made a space for himself by playing the vulnerable/dysfunctional man, thus undermining traditional concepts of patriarchy and/or machismo.

Fifth, he's built trust with the audience. They go into the theatre, trusting in the script Ayushman is in, all because he has built that rapport.

My only problem is he hasn't experimented with the masla/action genre. Once he gets into that, I think he will have proved himself as versatile as Ranveer.

He's a strictly average actor. He picks up the same script and base it around other dysfunctional character. What he's doing isn't pathbreaking. He's Salman Khan of tier-2 audience.

Oh come on. He's not an average actor by any means. He doesn't overact like Ranveer nor does he repeat himself like Ranbir ( who I also like as an actor btw). Also, he just won the National Award for God's sake. It's an insult to compare him to Salman Khan.

What's so special about the scripts? Bala was a strictly average script. It was more like preachy and slow. Still, it grossed 100 crores.

Article 15 was a dark, social issue-based movie, no-one would have gone to see it if it wasn't for Ayushman.

The truth is, the scripts work because of Ayushman, and not vice-versa. This hasn't happened overnight of course; I'm talking about last 2 years only.

I find him average. Either he's playing Delhi ka launda, or any other launda with Delhi boy ki accent. He was indeed good in andhadhun par National award Akshay Kumar ko Mila hai Rustom ke liye uska itna imp nahi raha ab.

I don't compare his acting with Salman, I compared he's style of filmmaking by Pleasing your target audience

Ayushman seems real, not fake, outsider and didn’t need to date a list actresses to stay in the news

See the thing is , to praise someone you don’t have to put down the others...You say Ayushmann cannot be insulted but you keep insulting Ranbir/Ranveer calling one as an overacting actor and the other as repetitive despite their achievements and critically acclaimed repertoire...

All three have their own place and all three are needed to take the industry forward.Period!

People think doing light subtle comedy is easy. Most of the top stars will shit on screen in doing so.
