They work so hard, act in content driven cinema but our patriarchal audiences just won't go to watch their films.

That's because bollywood's primary audience is male dominated. On the contrary, television industry is female dominated because even the audience is female dominated. Both the genders want to see themselves as heroes.

They don't like content at all. If a content-film works, it's usually just a fluke. Not just anpadh audience, I see the middle and upper class audience preferring to watch trash too. Nowadays they don't even like original music. Just the same old songs remixed stupidly with added noise works.

Women-lead films would do better if they started making ultra stupid movies, with double meaning jokes, remixed songs, some fight scenes that make no sense and B-grade male actors coming to take their shirt off.

Start making female versions of the usual Salman Khan nonsense.

I feel sad for actresses who are genuine abt their job. Not like madam ji who uses every cheap tactic to get publicity. But what happened in the end? It backfired on her. The movie is a flop from start cos of her. Could have just taken a better actress instead. Pretty sure madam ji did some golmaal in direction also, to potray herself as the greatest thing on earth. Again backfired. Only victim in all this is the real victim. Didn’t deserve this cheap woman to play her.

Audience ka paisa, unki marzI kaunsi movie woh dekhe. Laundo ke bhi toh so called "content driven" movies itna kaam nahi karte, unless they have comedy or mass fight sequence, toh kiya audience ko abb misandry bologe??

Audience ko entertainment chahiye, entertainment naa ho, toh Sallu bhi Tubelight dega.

Not every film needs to make 300 Cr. If budgets are reigned in small films become hits. They are supposed to make 80-90 Cr.

Alia pulls pretty decent numbers with these content films. Kangana and Kareena clearly can pull numbers with action/comedy. Audience is clearly there, we just don't make those large budget films with large potential with female leads.

Bas shuru ho gaya female victim card and all. Even male stars content driven movies had bombed. From Swades to Lootera to October and many more. Most of Rajkumar rao movies get rave reviews for content and bombs like anything at BO. Female lead movies like Raazi, Kahaani, TWM, Stree, Neerja and so many others had done exceptionally well. Stop telling audiences are stupid as a female lead movie is bombing.
