That dialogue was there for symbolism. I wrote in the start of this thread.. I'll quote once I find it.

But if symbolism messes with the character graph, it's not done. 😒

Their angst would involve Rishi also. There was a dialogue by Ru at the party: Tune pehle dhundh liya to teri, mujhe pehle mil gayi to meri. It was said in a jest, but it would play out in actions. In the precap, Rudra ko Maya pehle milti hai, at the same time Rishi finds her. Toh Maya kiski huyi?
