So long as Ranbir and Ranveer exist, I feel poor guy will face same plight at awards functions. He continues to receive critics awards whilst Ranbir/Ranveer walk away with popular awards.

I feel his fan following and clout is less than the other two, because acting-wise he is definitely not inferior.

Do you guys think this trend will continue? If so, why?

He should have won popular choice award. All his movies worked and he was applauded not only by critics but also by the audience. What makes you think he doesn't have fan following? I have seen people saying that they would watch a movie if it has Ayushmaan in it. That's the trust he has built with the people. These award shows are rigged anyway.

His USP is The-One-Who-Got-No-Popular-Award-But-Is-The-Best-Entertainer.

I would like to respectfully disagree. He's a complete outsider, who has made it on his own. He is giving consecutive hits on his own merit, and acting is good in all. He's not afraid to experiment. He's created his own niche. Also, he is wayyyyy more talented than most of his contemporaries like Varun, Tiger, Kartik etc.

Yes he has struggled...he din't get recognition for Bareilly ki barfi ,shubh mangal ...however right now he is getting more than he deserves... Bala for instance dint deserve the ratings it got ..critics overrated it coz of Ayush..the audience clearly showed that it wasn't all that great....also this year Shahid deserves the awards....not Ayush...sorry.

Ayushmann is doing alright for himself...He is getting his due recognition at the end of the day being reckoned by one and all as one of the front runners in the industry right now......I feel its the likes of Sushant Singh Rajput who are being ignored no matter how much work they put in....He worked in two of the best movies of 2019 but hardly anybody is talking about him!

It had brilliant reviews ...4 star, 4 and a half stars reviews...critics touted it to be a blockbuster and earn more than DG but the film dropped heavily after the partial holiday and weekend ended...clearly wasn't like the way the critics made it out to be...it had open 4 weeks up untill ppaw and panipat release...shud have easily crossed 150 if it was such a great film...
