His answer:

People are talking about age gap between you and Ashnoor Kaur, what do you want to say about them?

I honestly don’t feel that an age gap should really matter while working on the show, as at the end of the day we are actors, portraying our respective roles in this profession, and it is the way we portray the role that eventually matters!

And I agree with him. It's just acting, not reality. Boys act as girls, girls act as boys but it's only onscreen, right? We accept it. We also accept people playing old making hair grey and all.

I know some people must be thinking, he is like a father to her, so how can he romance her?? Do you really think they would show intimate moments? They would show love, may be hugs, hand holding, eyes staring if most, if they showed romance. They would show them as couple but won't show intimate moments, I am sure because this is a family show. I am sure no one would mind that because it's not that big deal.

We just don't like the tag 'couple' thinking of real life age difference. But I think we all should think it as acting and only focus on reel life. I am sure in reel life, they won't have that much age difference if they are going to show them as couple.

No nothing new is happening. This just another desperate attempt by the Actor and the PH to hang on to few die hard fans. Lol. Making him having the hair like that is not going to make him any younger but is unhygienic in the Catering industry even with devine intervention.

So far its been a replay of PB with the cooking etc, HS and Poor Mini bond repeated again,as there is no story line left for them. Its just the love story that is going to be shown in full as its not a love story line.

Is he for real. Maybe its acting and he is ok with it but she is only 15 years. Now that is sick and not acceptable.

Problem with few is not age actually but fact that their favorites are not in the show now so they are taking out their frustrations in all threads😆 they just want to spoil each and every thread of others 😆They need to stop doing this at least in others thread (they can create their own thread of pages and keep on thier rants there) and one more thing is how much ever you spoil others thread and keep shouting here nothing will change . Season two is on and shall go on in very good way . People are already liking it and the freshness . SJ said it right .They are actors .They play variety of roles and their duty is to just act .In past there were so many young girls who played matured roles opposite top actors and thier Jodis were loved because makers and actors knew thier limits .So everything was taken care then and shall be taken care even now .So one need to stop ranting out thier frustration(just coz your favourites are no longer part of show ) here at least in others thread and allow new members to enjoy thier favourites in season 2 just like how you guys enjoyed your favourites in season one

If you actually see, many of us (including me) were/are not accepting this, because of their age gap. But, at the end of the day, they have to stay true to their profession. And if they refuse a role just because of this reason, they are actually limiting their boundaries. These days, age gap has no restrictions whatsoever. Moreover, it is reel and not real. Since they have to act their characters out, it's not a big deal until things get real (in general). And in this case, he is already a father, so it shouldn't actually matter what role he is playing. That's just an addition to his cap of doing more versatile roles. And to be honest, the more you watch them, the more you will actually get used to these two being opposite each other.

.

No chappals please, but I feel they do have some sort of chemistry. But, not commenting anything soon, just waiting to watch as it progresses, because it's really gripping now...😁😁

Well this is about perspective

Even during pehredar piya ki show there was two petition

Against the show concept and in support of the show also

Well but neither tejswi prakash feels that time that she should not do the show with child

Neither affan khan and his parents also

So the problem is about how people think

Not how actor and ph thinks

Well even my mother who is same as babita s thinking process

Log kya khahenge and all thinking

Not found concept and age issue weird

Instead of that she started watching show with me and when show goes off air I started teasing mummy that tera fav show to gaya😂

Well I am not denying the fact that when first time I heard news about SRJ I also thought about age gap but then came into senses and realise I am mixing reel and real

Or konsa ye pehli baar ho raha h

That's it

Pehredaar piya ki was a big disaster on all levels. I have no idea who in his/her right mind thinks that 10-11 year old boy romancing 19 years old woman is an acceptable idea? Vice versa is equally pathetic. And that show actually showed child marriage and not in the mature way like balika vadhu.

ashnoor's case is certainly more in the gray zone compared to piya ki pehredaar case. But that show was totally BS be it the concept or creativity. And just because tejaswi prakash is okay with being casted as a dutiful wife of a little boy does not make it right or justified. Especially given history of child marriages in our country. Context matters a lot especially when storyline is meddling with social issues.

Indian TV gets away with showing a lot of things which are actual crime in this country and yet those things are shown as socially acceptable practices or even as romance. I can tolerate a lot of that BS but certainly not this one. That show was rightly called out for regressive content.

In case of ashnoor, she's certainly old enough to voice her opinion and make a choice. I'm still not fan of huge age gaps. And it's not like ashnoor is immature at 17 yrs and will suddenly become mature at age of 18, the problem is- literally the age Gap. I'm not fan of Salman in dabang 3 romancing 21-22 year old actress either, it's not illegal, but it's not something I'm okay with. Especially given the pattern prevalent in Bollywood and ITV where oldies romance actresses half of their age and actresses (or women in general) are mainly valued for youthfulness.

Well there was many people with this perspective that's why petition againt the show came into picture

And some people was not finding big issue and even also support show with petition

And some are watching as entertainment

That's what I am saying perspective of people differ

Well she is not doing this with some kind of majbori and if she personally feels not ok than she can voice her opinion if she find not comfortable personally like janaat zubir voice out for kissing seen

Now according to SRJ and ashnoor they are just doing there job only

some people are not ready and comfortable because age-gap like you and nothing wrong if you think this way

And again some people ready and not found this new and doing comparison with reel and real

And in interview SRJ clearly mentioned that his wife and mother are happy with this role and SRJ more personally liable to anwer his wife and mother and family only and they are happy with this

Ashnoor and her parents are also ok with this.

Ashnoor is not 17. Wiki gives her birthdate as May 2004 putting her at 15 & half. At that age she shd not be doing romantic (much less intimate) scenes with anyone, whether his age, cpl years older or much older. It is not the age gap but her age itself that is the problem. Secondly at 15+ she cannot be considered competent enough to decide for herself what is right or wrong for her to do.

It is very improper of her parents to permit her to do a romantic role at this age. Also improper of the PH to hire a 15 yr old for a romantic role.

The actor playing Neil is a professional & doing his job, he is not in control if who they hire opposite him. Of course he cld take a principled stand & refuse to act opp a 15 yr old, but on the other hand he can be forgiven for thinking if she doesnt mind & her parents dont mind why shd I bother. Aftr all he is not a TV Khan, he doesnt hv that kind of influence power or options.
