So, tonight the charade of a family was exposed before the world, and Maya did not have to lift a finger to do anything. Antara did it all for her. As Maya is progressing in her plans, we can see how her attempts are geared towards isolating Mrityunjay, one-by-one.

Antara's wake-up call - Maya drowning Antara wasn't intended to take her life because her job is not to deal the death card on any of the Roys. It is to shake up the existing toxic normalcy in the Roy family regarding things that are inherently wrong - Antara clinging onto a relationship where she has no clue who she is anymore, she does not recognize herself anymore. Antara drowning in the water by Maya is like Maya purging her of this quandary and addiction, to compel her to act or take responsibility for her choices or make a very drastic choice that will somewhere weaken Mrityunjay. Mrityunjay is able to maintain this facade of being a good man, good father, good husband because Antara has supported him in that facade. Antara choosing to back off from her responsibility as a good and diligent homemaker risks Mrityunjay being exposed as the man he is - which probably he doesn't realize yet. He may treat water indifferently, but we always need water - as its a basic necessity - you cannot just let go of it. Antara has reached her saturation point - she may not leave Mrityunjay completely, but she may not be as involved as keeping the family together as before - which plays out to Maya's advantage.

Rudra's ethical standards - Rudy boy, take a bow. I have seen many of mumma's boys in TV shows. I have also seen bad boys with mommy issues shows too, but he is one boy who is neither too mom-sided or dad-sided. He is a neutral character who chooses right over anything else. Rudra is a very devoted son - to both his parents. He loved his father too at one point in time - but that love was replaced with anger and hate because he could not forgive his father for his actions. Also, what he cannot forgive is his mother's inability to stand up for herself - which he has voiced many times. His point is simple - what is wrong, stays wrong - no matter what you say. Also, he respects a woman's individuality a lot - which we see in his interactions with Maya and Ananya - who are pretty strong on their own. What I also appreciate about Rudra is, he does not love blindly - he calls a spade, a spade. Which makes it very tough for Maya to use her love card on him. Even if we assume that Rudra gets to know Maya's story and helps her, because he loves her - he will still call Maya out on her actions. And high chances are Rudra has the power as an individual to change gears of Maya's revenge towards justice with his love.

Rajiv's profit - Tumhari nafrat me faayda dikha isiliye tumhara saath de raha hu. This line is enough to summarize what Rajiv Chandra is - a businessman whose compass is more inclined towards gain than morality or conscience. He is not a Maya sympathizer or a friend. His allegiance to Maya is just good business for him. Because Maya's hate is what will ruin Mrityunjay Roy. The keyword being Maya's hate. The moment he notices Maya deviating from a path of hate towards love - that is when he can change the game in Mrityunjay's favor - because again - it will be good business for him. So, no, he is no way reliable, and Maya too is aware of the same - which is evident in how she treats him. Like Rajiv puts it - Tum insaan ko bhi keede makaure hone ka ehsaas dilati ho.

The lost boy 'Rishi' - Rishi is not someone to deal with issues and problems easily, because he never has had to. He has been aware that there are inherent problematic equations in his family, but he has always treated them as mere fun. But tonight he got a reality check - the crumbling of a so-called perfect relationship of his parents. Unfortunately, he chose the wrong side to stick to. Whatever happens, Rishi is dad's pet. Even after what went down in the party and what he saw happen to his mom, he might have been affected by it, but not so much to side with his mom. Where Rudra could see that his mom is in this state because of his father, Rishi though that his father deeply loves his mom and was trying to help her. Rishi is too naive in these manipulative games of his father. And he has still seen only his dad's good side. There are possibilities that things change when Mrityunjay starts giving him some 'tough love'. Going by the tendencies of Roy Boys - Rishi will not take it sitting down.

Maya's Sultan - Well what I appreciate about this season, is them highlighting in bits and pieces - parts of Maya's humane and loving nature that exists inside all that hate. She may have changed, but her core is still intact - which is loving and caring. S1 was all about manipulative and obsessive Maya, this season already has established Maya obsessing over the destruction of the Roys with hate, but her humanity is certainly intact - loving animals, caring daughter, supporting the cause of transgenders - show signs of a morally strong woman she is.

Other Highlights:

1. The character of Diya needs to be fleshed out more. So is her inclination towards Mrityunjay.

2. Ananya investigating will be turned around over to Mrityunjay, because of Maya, because itni aasani se kisi ke haath nahi aane wali. She has been planning everything for the last 8 years.

3. It is now Rishi's turn to be separated from Mrityunjay - and high hopes, it won't be death related - it will be more of emotional and mental separation.

Rudra is love man. His thoughts and perception is what i adore about him. If he falls for maya he will do everything in him to support her. As he mentioned to his mom. He is ready to shield his woman from harm. He is strength of his woman. Here when he was talking to Antara I really forecasted his same scene with maya.

He believes in justice. But he also dont want to display in public like tamasha create krna.if i am not wrong!

So yeah he is a man who keeps good or bad in the family. The scene where he closes the door to veil their family ka truth was quite a hint.

Maya has to work really hard in rudra's case. Like seriously hard!

For him his family, his mother is before maya rn. Which she needs to break to make him her puppet. Which i highly doubt he ever will be! Unless he is head over heels in love with her.

Today family is above maya for rudra one day table will turn and maya will be above anybody for rudra.

She said it correctly. One of the three has a power to change the story

Mj, Antara or Rudra

And its quite obvious!!

Antara drowning bit.. Maya saying can u see me and she couldn't see her.. those words were more on the fact that Antara did not see what wrong was happening in the past too.. water us generally put to wake up someone and that's what it did here.. the whole drowning actually cooled down antara from her mix of drugs waking her up.. Also maya said that u wont die as that will finish all the sins.. in Mahabharat also the kauravas went to heaven after death because they already paid for their sins by dying in the war.. now it's to see wether she wakes up or MJ I love u was enough to put her back to sleep.. Like Maya said the game changer either will be Antara or MJ or Rudra at this point.. Antara may not change I feel..

Coming to Rudra.. every of his dialogue today was clap worthy.. wether it was to Mj or to Antara.. Rudra actually is very sharp like Mj only.. but the blow in his life has taught him to see what's what.. he remember told MJ in his office that u will find me standing right in front of u.. Maya may have a plan but she still doesnt have the guts to directly face MJ.. what I like is that he cannot be manipulated.. the whole Diya story only manipulated Rishi and Rudra was uninterested.. Antara should be stupid not to listen to her son and move on.. and if u notice Rishi started to go against Rudra today and went to his dad.. Rudra breakdown in life has made him a better person to see through things but when Rishi will face it , he might turn into another MJ..

Rajiv cant be trusted.. he was all fake from his word go with Maya.. she doesnt shake hands with him.. holding hands symbolises trust. She doesnt trust him.. unknowingly she showed that trust to Rudra.. also Rajeev might even turn the game when it will come to his own agendas.

Coming to Diya ..who is she really?? Y does she support MJ so much.. for me diya and aamir are the two main ppl for Mj.. one who handles his house and one who handles his outside affairs..

Sultan who is Rudra dog.. he remembered Maya and she remembered him for the affection in the past.. it was a beautiful scene.. Maya may be planning but she is not dark on the inside.. in season 1 she was white outside but dark inside..

Lastly the whole planning.. I still wanna know what have the sons done to her to be a part of her revenge? I still trust that the reason the makers are showing Rudra goodness to us is that some day he will help Maya face MJ and get justice and not just fight under a mask.. also only he knew who was the person under the mask and noone else..

Soon, Maya will also take a similar place in his life, just like Antara. Hope he manages, to win her over❤️

Yes, I mentioned earlier that when it comes to protecting the reputation of his family, he is there as s mountain. He is least bothered about himself, unlike Mrityunjay. But if it comes to the rest, he will shield them with all his might.

So yeah he is a man who keeps good or bad in the family. The scene where he closes the door to veil their family ka truth was quite a hint.

Exactly!

Maya has to work really hard in rudra's case. Like seriously hard!

Absolutely. He is not like the other Roys. He cannot be manipulated with lies, because he sees right through them. Maya can only manipulate him using his own strength- honesty.

For him his family, his mother is before maya rn. Which she needs to break to make him her puppet. Which i highly doubt he ever will be! Unless he is head over heels in love with her.

True that.

Today family is above maya for rudra one day table will turn and maya will be above anybody for rudra.

The tables will turn surely, when Rudra knows the whole truth about Maya. As I said, only honesty can win this man over, nothing else.

She said it correctly. One of the three has a power to change the story

Mj, Antara or Rudra

My bets are on Rudra.

And its quite obvious!!

Beautiful analysis as usual and lovely comments by everyone else. Merry Christmas🤗

Coming to the episode, quite a few things stood out

- Debts to be repaid: Maya as many were expecting isn't here to kill for the sake of killing. She is here to destroy her rival and slowly she has started to take her steps to achieve her goal. I liked how they showed a parallel of Maya drowning while Antara struggled to breathe. She said very clearly that as long as debt remains, she won't kill Antara. This also means Antara is guilty in what happened to Maya in a big way. Enemies attack from front but those who are hidden enemies always backstab us. When this truth is exposed, and assuming Rudra is innocent in what happened to Maya, this will dent Rudras trust in his mother big time.

- Past meets present: How interesting that the party brought together two acquaintances of Maya- sultan (who is Rudras dog) and Rajeev (who is MJs enemy). The flash backs are crucial to understand Maya and I love how the cvs use them to constantly remind us of the love that Maya is capable of giving if someone is worthy to receive it. Rajeev may be shady and may be a prime candidate for flipping sides but he genuinely seemed moved by Mayas plight and made a visible effort to cheer her up. But will he also be this understanding when she (most likely) gets attached to Rudra enough. Didn't he say he was amazed how Maya preferred to seek a spark where she put up a fire?

- Rudra, self control & morals: I will keep begging the cvs to never touch Rudys characterisation for the sake of any shock value. He is today's guy with deep rooted values, morals, and empathy. His measured words to MJ in the party, outright confrontation in the room, and his words of encouragement to Antara warmed my heart. Maya has to get him to fall for her completely if she wants to be a priority in Rudys life. I liked how cvs gave us the scene of Rudy telling off Ananya that he is not thinking of Maya as Antaras mess happened and similarly thanking Maya for saving Antara. Maya, as others said, has guessed rightly that MJ/Antara/Rudy will change the game.

As per spoilers, Antara won't confront MJ and that means it will be Rudy who has to do it. Funny that if Maya wanted to enter Roy House, why is she trying to distance Rudy from his family🤔

Today Ananya put a timer on her own head- first deciding to call MJ during Antara rescue thereby shortening MayRa interaction and in the precap casting suspicion on Rajeev-Maya bond. Will be interesting to see what Maya plans to tackle her.
