Salman was referring to their past when he said gandagi ka box but this was in Rashami's favour.

This started when Rashami literally begged Salman to support her, haath jod ke and Salman felt embarrassed and shouted 'have you lost the plot Rashami?'

He was trying to tell her that Shukla is trying to be politically correct by not completing his 'aisi ladki' and 'ghar pe lena' statements. Everybody knows what they both mean but Shukla was trying to be smart by not saying it out loud so that somehow he can get away with it. Salman even said that 'thoughts mat daalo country mein' so instead of bringing forward the filth that was implied, she should have found a better way to deal with this man.

Bottom line, Salman meant that Shukla is never going to have anything nice to say about her so she should stop expecting and let go of the past, they both should, and move on.

Rashmi's inetntion of bringing HER past which is NOT important to know anymore
