Deepika on Biopics

Interview Aug 2018 :

"I feel like there are too many biopics being made. In the last few months, I can’t count the number of biopics that we’ve been offered. And they’re all great; they’re very strong and powerful. But when it comes to a film, after a point, how much are you going to tell me about those struggles? Even a common man on the street has had a similar journey if you ask me"

Draupadi is a part of a mythology, toh real kaise huyi be lol.

Also isn't the book which Deepika is adapting a twisted and corrupted version, and has nothing to do with Mahabharata.

1. Chhapaak is not a biopic. How many times they are going to say it? They even changed the name of the characters so people do not think biopic.

2. It’s a biopic for Ranveer only but that’s the only one in the list I can give to you

Laxmi thought the movie was about her. So they used numerous aspects of her life and in the end said nah it’s not about you? That sucks!

I am on Dp's payroll here. She pay me huge chunk to keep her relevant, in news and expose her hypocrisies

All three are based off real characters so Dp's point of not playing characters contradicts to her recent choices. Because all three have their own struggles like every normal human being

But she clearly said she wants to tell common man story. So every story is kind of someone story. If I go by your logic everything is a biopic. A biopic tell the story of someone exactly how it happened. It’s not the case here for Chhapaak.

Yaar tum kabhi accept nahi karti ho. Champak isn't entirely laxmi's story but at core it is her story. Not every acid attack victim run a campaign to stop sale of acids as it will be shown in the film. It is her story, they might have changed the script a bit

Girl nope. Laxmi and Meghna have been working hands in hands together even before DP was a part of the mix. For every thing Meghna went to Laxmi to shape it up which is why Laxmi and her partner have already watched the movie even before the team. The movie is about her, inspired by her life but it’s not a biopic. There’s a clear difference.

I don’t like how people don’t look into it and try to make it look like she is being abused or whatsoever.
