Hi Cassiop!!! Glad my post spurred some thoughts worth pondering upon. Moreover, as a democratic Fourm each member here is free to disagree to any other member's POV and put forth a different perspective that is sincere. I respect your POV and een if you must please diagree as it is the essence of democracy.Things get out of hand ONLY when such difference stem from the sense of entitlement that allows the members from taking sly digs or mock the other person.
Your post was interesting indeed, worth discussing honestly. As itv has relationship between ratings, viewership and creativity is interesting and manifolded and every side will have its positives and negatives..
Democracy ia huge word and unfortunately has become a bigger joke in the whole country so I'll truly restrain myself from getting into this huge zone.. sparing us both from the painful reality..
I agree with whatever you have said in this paragraph. However, in my opinion whatever you have opined is true for the Shows those have had considerable runs; the Shows that are not affected by a little northward tilt in terms of ratings and rank. Hence, one sequence like wedding can stretch for weeks, sometimes even months until viewers get fed up of stagnation. However, the Show in this thread is not one of such Shows. In the last few months KZK 2 has been out of top 10, had lost the slot leader position, grappled with both online and real-time TRPs and seems had even gone off of the Top 10 Rank at Ormax. However, as the Show seems to be recovering slowly and steadily on all the aforementioned fronts, I felt the CVs now need to buck up. The Show needs mandatory improvements on various fronts if they want this Show to continue, at least for some more time. KZK 2 CVS, hence, are not in a position to indulge in nonchalance, at least not at this juncture.
You have exactlt said what I was trying to without getting into too much details of KZK as it was for ITV as a whole.. TRP and Ratings may be up but is is it because of anything extraordinary or out of the box.. its the same fight between 2 women and then killing spree.. here they may not be showing festivals and shadis but they are dragging same old fights just to stay in the race. So ratings do kill creativity, making writers lazy in the long run. This show has such young and if they were casted for anything on a different platform less threatened by TRPs results will be different.. again my own POV..
This is the sad but true state of affairs of ITV. They are good at market penetration with good episodes initially. However, the Show doesn't remain the same after some times. Don't know whom to blame though, audience that accepts whatever stupid or insane being dished out just because being connected with the Show or/and the audience who gets stuck in the rut due to emotional investment in character(s), or CVs who have understood the pulse of the audience to keep dishing them out whatever sells without having to think out of box or take risks. Or probably it is a vicious cycle that keeps on feeding and reinforcing the acceptance of takers and laziness of makers and vice-versa. Lets hope that the supposed revamp with expected shift to finite series would break this cycle.
Can't agree more with you here.. even I want to see how finite series fair in this never ending TRP and ratings race.. I hope makers take some risk or I must say allowed to take risk irrespective of ratings and audience pressure through several SM platforms.. lets see how far can CVs stretch their imagination..
