I like it as it looks like it covers most areas. Dublin LUAS ( tram ) map is so simple. It only runs from north to south or west to east. I don’t like the LUAS as it is not most efficient , it doesnot covers the intermediate areas.
For us , even if it's simple it covers mostly all places in Montreal...then to get to suburbs there is train which is also very simple...also there are express buses for suburbs from metro stations..Montreal is very accessible by public transportation unlike Toronto (you really need a car there)...all my life I used public transportation until 2017...I finally put an effort to get my driving licence...now I drive.
I read a bit about Tokyo train/subway system....There are several railway companies that operate in Tokyo which extends to neighboring prefectures:
- JR East Lines.
- Tokyo Metro and Toei subway systems.
- Private railways (Odakyu and Yurikamome).
- Tokyo Monorail.
- Shinkansen or bullet train.
That's why the map looks complicated I think. The JR line goes on a loop (this means that you can't board the wrong train for this line)...if you miss a stop then you need to just stay in the train until it gets back to the stop (you will only waste time).
Kala sis may have more info on the train/subway system.
