Let me share my Thiruvannaamalai memories..

It's during my school days we visited there, 3 continuous years..

Once we went girivalam.. It's about 14 kms walk.. that was a nice experience though.. but naduvula rest edukkalaam nu marathadila utkaarndhom naa thirumba nadakka kaal romba valikkum... So better not to take rest inbetween.. at times, we need not move at all, the rush pushes us forward 😆

Next time we climbed the hill where Deepam will be lit.. this one is unforgettable.. pretty lengthy story, so I reserve it for my next post..

Third year, we just went to the temple and saw the deepam from the chathiram mottai maadi..

Hi guys, wishing you all iniya Karthigai Deepa Thirunaal Nalvaazthukkal ⭐️ Was just watching the online broadcast along with bhakthi paadalgal . Pahh .. so divine .. wish I could be there.

Rendu vaati dhaan Thiruvannamalaiku poyirukken, but not on festival days so appo avlo kootam illa except for the usual queues .. somehow feel a natural affinity to the place and its vibes to this day - angae pogaama temple trips do not feel complete.

Side track but anyone was a fan of Annamalai serial with Sivakumar and Radhika? woah, that one really deepened my interest and reading up on the Annamalaiyar kovil and its legends and mysteries (despite the serial portrayal being fictitious). Remembered originally it was taken in Azhwarkurichi (Brahmadesam temple) before shfiting to Thiruvannnamalai at the end. Good memories .

Here comes that lengthy story.. (let me try to cut it short)

That year we 4 of us (mom,dad,me & sister) plus 2 grandma went for the trip.. when we start climbing, 6 of us were together.. mela yerumbodhu inbetween there'll be places to rest.. shops also will be there, snacks items..

Rest eduthu rest eduthu we somehow reached the top.. Top most place was slippery.. nei deepam yethura idam.. paarai romba vazhukkuchu.. I was about to fall.. nalla velai my mom pulled me aside ..

Then while climbing down, my very own grandma was bit old, she takes time to walk.. my dad was bringing her holding her hands.. At some point, 6 of us were split into 3 groups.. I was with my mom.. keezha irangumbodhu kooda moochu vaanguchu..

Anganga water pots vachirundhaanga.. but it's for money.. rate varies depending upon the height .. top la one glass water 2 rupees.. keezha vara vara the amount reduces.. Amma purse eduthuttu varala.. only my dad had.. so we couldn't buy water.. towards the end it was 25 paise.. adhu kooda vaanga mudiyaama we thavichified.. 😵 last ah chathirathukku vandhu dhaan thanni kudichom..

We were lost in groups naa.. my sister and another grandma reached before us.. but we waited for our dad and grandma for long... We were somewhat restless and worried about grandma.. dark aaga aarambichiduchu.. 6 o clock deepam um yethittaanga.. Finally they reached at 7 pm.. appo dhaan nimmadhi aachu..

Ippo kooda my mom remembers the incident, where we couldn't drink water not even having 25 paise in hand to buy it nu 😆
