Is it because :

1) He feels that they have connection since he is sure Pre and himself have some connection

2) He just have a curiosity as Pre lies to him and is anxious to find out who that guy is who left her ..

I think it's more of second option, he wants to know why is she lying and wants to know who is that person who ditched a girl like Prerna.
