Swastik treats its actors VERY well.

Exactly! The treatment SRJ and Pooja got was dreamy. SKT loves his actors and treats them as family.

I discovered Rohit Purohit because of them. The treatment he got when playing Alexander, who wasn't even the protagonist... that was just something else.

@bold — AD comes 2nd. And 1st priority has always been someone else. 😆 I only have that explanation. Otherwise it doesn’t make sense to not use HS coz he is so damm popular!

@Bold - Lol yes you have to go to BW forum to meet some crazy fanatics. I don't understand the fan culture either. I am not into it. Btw, I don't visit that forum as much... last time I checked, that forum isn't that active as before. Pehle toh koi bhi thread would reach 20+ pages at least, ab toh there are barely 3-4 pages 😆.

Everyone comes second to AK it seems for RS. Well, HS wouldn't have worked without Babita so they decided to axe his character. Also, the focus would be just on Mini, don't think AD wants to play a side character.

I'm telling you, she did some of her finest work when she had Paridhi or Aniruddh to play off of. Without them to support her, we all can see just how much she still needs to learn. She's a good actress, but she's nowhere near as great as Paridhi or Aniruddh are. She still has miles to go before she can reach their caliber and successfully carry a show on her own.

@Bold - I agree. With good actors like Paridhi and Aniruddh, she excelled. Like you said, she could play off of them, they rubbed off each other well. Now, when you see her acting, since she's mainly working alongside Saisha (Arya), you can tell the difference. She did some of her finest works with Paridhi (during pre-divorce, divorce, depression tracks), and with AD (during that appendicitis, imarti track). Mini and HS's character had a lot of scope to perform throughout, so we could see their potential. After that sharabi episode, Babita's character barely got any scope to perform (barring the outburst episode), so it seemed like Paridhi's acting felt flat too. There was a lot of scope for Babita's character during Imarti track, if they had given better material for her. But, all she got to do was stay behind and watch while Mini did all the work (another major let down from the writers). This was such a good part to build up Hanita's relationship further. I am saying again, they had the potential to go deep into Hanita's love story after Imarti track, but all they wanted to do was focus on Mini. Aghhh pisses me off.

I'm pretty sure Autumn posted it in the S2 discussion thread. 🤔 If not, have a look at #PatialaBabes on Twitter. The screenshot is there. 😆

Btw, BW refers to the Bollywood Forum. :)

I just did the rewatch and the writers should have stuck with telling just Minnie's story. Literally the entire episode was from her POV, from the shots of Patiala to the character introductions to the dreams and ambitions. They're all from her side, we don't get much of that from Babita. The problem became when they started to show us scenes that had nothing to do with Minnie. Because of this, we all began to assume that they were showing a well balanced story between the three characters. If they didn't want the viewers to think this, then they shouldn't have shown arcs that didn't involve Minnie. I.e., the late night conversations between Hanita, the conversations between the side characters, Babita's job track etc. They should have just stuck to Minnie so that we could have gotten the point. Then maybe viewer's expectations would've been different. But since we did get precious moments between all the characters and especially between Hanita, we started wishing for more. But again, the writers pulled the rug from under our feet aur dekha di hamari aukat. 🤔

Just saw it! Wow!

You know, I am not going to let these things bother me. It's their personal life and we only see bits and pieces of it. I don't know them enough to form opinions because what goes on behind the scenes is completely invisible to us (as it should be).

I want to see his work, that's it.

Well, now that they're not here to defend themselves, everyone will have a go at their characters and parenting abilities. People won't see the constant attempts that HS made to keep the family together, or all the years Babita spent in raising Minnie to be the person she is today. Instead, they'll just remember and focus on how HS didn't drop her off to the airport, or how Babita didn't once look at Minnie while she left. Was it a horrible situation? Yes. Did it warrant them all to be separated for five whole years? No.

Going overboard whilst defending one's favorite character or actor is typical of fandom. No one's exempt from it. It's just something that you have to get used to. That being said, I still think the PB forum is quite healthy when you compare it to others. We may not agree with each other's differing POVs, but it hasn't ever gotten ugly or toxic like others have. At least, that's my opinion. I may very well be wrong.

I am new to this forum world so dont know much. May be you are right

Thts my point no one could be perfect . When things are falling out we all make mistakes but that doesnt make us bad it only make all of us human being . After marriage and CD fiasco there were many incidents where hs tried to reach out for mini. Called her for dinners but at that time mini was so hurt and angry that she never tried to reciprocate in the same manner. He cried in front of her, talked to her many times, tried to make her understand the relationship between a man and a woman. Hell he even said that I am not a hero like you think I am a normal human being and I could also make mistakes. It's just that mini was soo upset with both of them that at that time it was impossible for her to think from her parents point of view.

And in case of babita, mini was the one who always step forward. She made her feelings clear and crystal in front of babita whether it's anger love frustration. How things changed so much suddenly bcz of 2-3 incidents. If she was missing her sooo much she could step forward like always bcz that how she was. If we love someone we forgive them after certain point and that too when we knew that the other person is also suffering. There were so many hints for her like hs said that your mother miss you very much, the missed calls. Babita was always the introvert one when it came to the confrontation of feelings.

At the end of the season it was like who will give up first between mother and daughter . Was it even worth it to show???

I read somewhere the whole June and July episodes where HS and Babes late night conversations took place, where they had screen time was during Ashnoor’s exam period. She was busy. So we got Hanita scenes. 😆

But your first episode analysis does shade a good light on the premise of the show. Our bad that we misunderstood. Babes aai, Hanuman Uncle aaye, fir dono nikal liye. Journey was always Mini’s. Humein hi samaj ne mein der ho gai. Ab samaj gaye hai toh hum bhi nikal liye. 😉

Idk I think first episode to be in Mini’s POV and her Introducing everyone makes sense. But, the whole show was Babita’s journey to being emancipated, with Mini as her anchor. If anything, it was a maa-beti ki story as what the promo suggested. So, for them to kill the maa from the equation is an abrupt decision. If it was always supposedly to be Mini’s story, would Paridhi had taken this role just to be a supporting character? If this was always Mini’s story, I don’t think the actors themselves were aware of it.
