It is not aversion I think, more like indifference. May be she has seen her mother struggle as a single parent in the absence of her father and that is why she wants to become independent. And also her mother never said that her father abandoned them but that they have separated. Prachi's mind is a more complex ground and hence, insight is very much needed.
Yeah to think of it prachi isn't shown as the child who thinks ill of her missing parent, so I guess you are right that seeing her mother struggle to raise her as a single mother made her feel that education and career to be independent is more of a priority in life than looking for romance and building social relationships.
