I saw Parth’s picture and I was like, “This boy... look at the depth in his eyes!” Men don’t have it. These days good looks are all about big biceps, six-pack abs, walking around with a strut and talking about how many women they’ve been with. I mean, come on! You need to have depth. You need to have class. Parth was the Anurag I wanted today.

Same for Prerna. The introduction of Prerna was that she couldn’t even reach the puja on time in the house. She was clear about the fact that her connection with God is deeper. She was a fun-loving girl who changed when she fell in love. I wanted someone vivacious. It means you’re lighthearted but you also have depth. It was the same for Erica.

Just thought of sharing this here once again, EK's own words on why she chose Parth & Erica to play AnuPre. And we have the result in front of us, which probably would have been surprising to EK herself that she had to swallow her own words of 'Do I Care? No.' 😆

Hope....the Tapur-Mahesh angle was fixed from the initial episodes itself. There was a scene Anupam catches Mahesh drooling Tapur and comments on it. Even during Tapur's engagement there was a monologue by Pre's bhabhi on the same ground. It is just that EK & her CVs till now were so busy with iconic characters that they didn't get time to focus on side characters. But, eversince Komo had put Sindoor on Tapur and emphasised on her engagement having happened, just like how first crack between MoMo happened after Komo's sindoor dan on Mohini, i am waiting for Tapur's engagement to get cancelled, again proving the apshakun of Komo playing with Durga maa's sindoor. On that ground, i am not clear on Nivi's case, because CVs had focused more on Komo putting sindoor on Mohini & Tapur. With Nivi, it was just like for namesake.

If needed, the makers have lots of potential tracks with the casts they are having; only if EK ka attention iconics se hate tho.

mahesh is much younger than tapur.

Ah Grace.... thanks for reminding about this interview....

I'm not surprised about her casting Erica as Pre. Ekta's soaps are female-oriented and after a while, it is woman who decide everything relegating ML to second leads.

However, with AnuPre, it has been more of a relationship or rather portrayal of equality. Komo comes to AnuPre's life, anu marries her without sindoor, Pre fights with Anurag's implicit help, Pre sacrifices, Anu doesn't bow but fights back for his love, then Anu loses his memory and tags along with Sonalika- Pre doesn't bow to fate but rather fights for her love.

I wonder whether Anurag would both be the equal trope, catalyst as well as the participant of KZK 2 like Prerena, if the role was played by a big-biceped, six-pack-abed, walking around with a strut braggart, instead of an actor with depth-in-his-eyes...
