From the word go everything was perfect.
Veena scolding Sona- bang on!
Sona apologising to Rohit- bang on!
Rohit accepting that yes there was wrong done and not outrightly supporting Sona for her mistake, more importantly explaining her that the transition from a nuclear family to a big joint family is going to be difficult and will take a lot to cope up with.
Bidaai- this scene has so much in that, I don’t think I will ever have words to describe what I felt when I watched it. 💔. Time and again it hurts to see that this is a part of our tradition and will happen with each one of us.
Sippy’s leaving Sona at the door- initially I was pissed at them for being so insensitive. But calmly when I think of it I feel it’s reality that was shown to us. I know we didn’t like it and I understand that it certainly could have been avoided but I think it’s the TRUTH. Sippy’s are not use to her as a part of their family as of now, they were worried about Rohan. When he arrived all hell broke lose and they rushed behind him. At that very moment Sonakshi was not in their minds anywhere. May sound harsh but it’s the reality. It was unintentional. Few months down the line Sona would also be rushing in with them and may be Ajit’s wife would be left behind at the door. This is how family ties are, she is yet to bond with them so closely but they are all bonded among themselves very close knitted.
I would have been happy had Rohit remembered about leaving behind Sona himself than having anyone else reminding him.
It looked out of character for him to do that, especially after his over excitement towards Sona and the wedding. He should have dragged her along inside or atleast tried to hold on to her hand. I would have still understood had he pulled her and then walked in alone. But that didn’t happen and more than anything this indifference is what has hurt me. His excitement towards wedding has been so overwhelming that this was the least I was expecting of him. But I guess just as he explained Sona that galti ho jati hai insaan se, Usse bhi ho gayi. I am sure he is going to feel awful about it.
