To her straight question, he had a straight acceptance that he wasn't involved in Anurag's disappearance and to his much surprise, he found her believing his words. He wasn't unaware of the extent to which she was emotional when it came to Anurag and he wouldn't have been surprised if she had accused him rather he would have been surprised had she not put forward that question.
"Prerna." He shifted a step to his right seeing her fainting right before his eyes and her unconscious figure fell on his front as he quickly wrapped his hands around to hold her.

She opened her aching eyes to see him standing in front of the bed. Her head hurt but she made no attempt to stretch her hand to clutch her head. Anurag still occupied her mind. She did not say a word and that had him say, what he hadn't thought that he would but recalling the doctor's caution, he knew that he had to.
"If you assure me that you would calm yourself and relax - I would locate Mr. Basu and let you know, where he is and how he is."
Did he really say that? Her eyes stared him in a way that it left him conscious. He wasn't fond of Anurag. He wasn't Anurag's family. He had absolutely no connection to Anurag. Why would he do that? For her?
