Tahira is more Kiran Rao than Twinkle. Like Kiran she is a wannabe film director, a staunch SJW who loves the limelight and is media savy. Twinkle is a star kid who was an ex actress so even if she was not married to Akki she would have gotten media attention and industry attention by the virtue of her pedigree.

This. It is goodwill that makes people watch Aamir and Ayushmaan's movies. They don't have huge fanbase, neither do they have superstar aura.

But if it's so easy to build goodwill then why are other actors not building it?

Kisne kaha hai ke easy hai. One might think meri yeh film toh Oscar laane wali hai... but the movie can get panned. Ayushmann's first few movies worked because he chose well. Now below average movies working coz he has successfully made the audience wear rose tinted glasses. Fuddu hai phir bhi log bhed bakriyon ke tarha theaters mein jaa rahe hai. Agar anti-Khan agenda chalu nahin hota toh Aamir ki TOH bhi D3 type business kar leta. Aamir ke liye pehna hua colored glasses anti-Khan agenda ne todh diya... ab Ayushmaan ke against bhi kuch hona chahiye... till then goodwill ka fasal har saal ghar mein leta rahega.

Ayush's Shubh Mangal shud have earned more but it din't ...Bala is making up for it...BMS score of Bala is much less but it got excellent critic reviews thanks to brand ayushman...

Aamir's i dont agree...he's had a series of excellent films which justified his goodwill...
