Now will people give credit to Shahid for Kabir Singh huge opening?

Just angsty love story is not enough for a big opening. Kabir Singh opening was of 20 Crores. Marjaavaan opened around 6-7 Crores. Kabir Singh opened huge because of Shahid otherwise why Sid can't give the same level of opening with similar type of love story?

Because Kabir Singh had massive hype due to Bekhayali and it's being Arjun Reddy remake.

From which angle is Kabir Singh similar to Maarjavaan.

Kabir Singh had a great teaser, and trailer was one of the best in years, Maarvajan had a shite trailer. And Kabir Singh's music is actually superhit, and not like Maarjavaan which is lukewarm success, with few Tara and Sid fan boys overhyping them as if they are A2 or EV level hit songs.

No one gave credit to Temper being a remake of Simmba or the original movies of Bhai's innumerable remakes. It's only in case of Kabir Singh that it being a remake becomes a factor in its success.😆

Both are love stories of angry young man with hit music.

KS appealed to all class and mass especially college going students. That and majority of women secretly loved that film and kept going to the cinema again and again.

Marjavan is strictly for the low class/auto walas/rickshaw pullers etc.

Kabir Singh had that slick look, and cinematically very aesthetically cut trailer n all

Marjaavan doesn't have that look...it seems a potboiler, outdated sorta look

Having said that, we can definitely credit Shahid Kapoor for Kabir Singh's success, not just opening. His performance was beyond amazing.

Definitely the success of Kabir Singh has taken Shahid into an another level, now he is much more widely known and the increase of his followers in both instagram and Twitter is noticeworthy. Better late than never, he is finally getting his due now. Not every remake does good in Bollywood so we gotta give Shahid credit for the success of the film, his performance was praised by audience no matter whether they liked the movie or not.

And comparing Shahid's acting to Sid is stupidity, coz Shahid is a method actor who keeps experimenting with his roles practically, which Sid doesn't. Sid needs choose scripts wisely where his character can connect to the audience.
