What tawaif ? Roshni wasn't a tawaif back also she just performed ONCE but that was afterwards.

Indian audience ki regressive mindset is not ready to accept a tawaif as a heroine. They need purity ki murat for their hero. I feel though they wanted the Nawab-Tawaif..Reputed man-Stained (acc to society) woman angle for eyeballs but obviously they didn't the balls to actually go through with it for the TRP aunties. I wish they did. A mature man-woman story would have worked just as well. Would have added so many layers to the story.
