Again, she missed the point. The girl who asked the question even gave it a context by saying earlier there was a discussion about Fair and Lovely. It was about a larger cultural problem of darker girls not feeling as confident or as beautiful. At its core the issue was bigotry. Family and community and society’s bigotry against dark skin and favor towards light skins. I think that’s a lot deeper than just saying oh just have your confidence inside of yourself, or however she worded it. Her answer at best was idiotic and at worst tone deaf and insulting.
Earlier there was a section about fair n lovely girls talked about how they suffered because of their tan, anytime you fantasise about getting tan or going to beaches which part of this question about bigotry against dark skin?
