Even though the character of prerna is by far the worst written in the show I have certain things to say.

Even though she lacks self respect and self importance she is determined, stubborn and passionate. Her one characteristic which is good and bad is that she is selfless. This same trait is what caused bajaj to fall in love with her. But it also causes her downfall.

If it wasn't for basu pestering bajaj and prerna I'm sure we wouldn't have seen all those lollipop scenes. In Switzerland prerna put basu in his place when he tried to cross the line with her. However due to his emotional manipulation she fell because basu makes her weak.

If you take out all the lollipop scenes in between I would see prerish development even more. I give credit to prerna for accepting kuki as her own. It's the writers fault we didn't get to see more of a bond between the two. But most people wouldn't accept a responsibility so big on them. I give credit to prerna for not believing bajaj would break his promise at first when basu first accused bajaj of hiring goons. But again as basu makes her weak it's no surprised she doubted him. But most importantly she believed he didn't at first. I give credit to prerna for rectifying her mistake and going to jail to release bajaj after realizing what she did.

The problem with prerna is that she is a naive girl who sees the world through a glass. As they would say. Prerna is living in a bubble. She feels it's her responsibility to take care of basu and his family. A family who gives her nothing but pain, misery, torment and suffering. Mohini barely knows sonalika and she already chose her over prerna. Mohini knew how much prerna sacrificed for her son and she still hates her. The problem with prerna is she is deep in her love. She is drowning in her love as basu makes her terribly weak. She doesn't see that the same love is destroying her and her life. She doesn't see how toxic and unhealthy it is for her.

These kind of love bring out the worst version in people and that's what it's doing to prerna. As she can't see what she is doing or how destructive it has become. She has lost her self respect, self importance, dignity and honor while fighting to be with basu. Basu indirectly brings her pain. The problem is I don't know if prerna will be able to walk away from it. It will have to take something big to break of that emotional attachment.

You know when you look at it from a story point logically you realize WHY the story has put BAJAJ as prerna destiny and KOMOLIKA as basu destiny. Since the inception of the show prerna has suffered. Even though anurag loves prerna he indirectly causes her pain without knowing it. It's his decisions, behavior and action that causes that wedge and pain. Mohini has always shown prerna hatred. Instead of anurag correcting his family members, he says two lines and forget it. Just as it's the parents job to correct the children when they are wrong it's the children job to correct the parents when they are wrong. Parents can learn something from their children. But basu never dealt with the situation properly.

When you treat a good person terribly there is always the consequence that need to be paid. So komolika is like god gift to them. It's karma. As she is the woman who is unlike prerna. She will put every basu in their places. She don't make no one walk over her. Which is what prerna does. I always said it's no coincidence anurag married komolika TWICE. If that's not enough to show someone who their destiny is then I don't know what to say.

You don't judge a book by its cover. This fits bajaj. On the outside he is ruthless, cunning, serious and devious but on the inside he is a different person. When he loves he make sure that person feel no pain or misery. Bajaj did what anurag could never do. When his aunt and taanvi crossed the line he put them in their place. He even told taanvi he will send her abroad. He doesn't let no outside aspects interfere in His marriage. Even though initially he never liked her, he respected her and gave her freedom. He doesn't let no one belittle his wife. This is why Bajaj was chosen by God or fate to be prerna destiny. Hence the ganapti veneration where they did aarti together, when he first saw her in the temple etc. Bajaj is the man who treats her right unlike basu and his family.
