Oye Fary, I watched your fav. Dear Comrade movie finally as well😆
I'm finally catching up on things I can watch on Netflix and Prime.....lol
And now I know what you meant by that Bobby-Lilly scene in your gif....sach mein eerie Shivika parallels the of him hugging her and she not being aware that he's found out what abuse she went through.
I didn't think the movie would end up being about addressing a Me Too topic but they still gave a good message. Waise toh it was quite a journey for Bobby and Lilly but they wove the central theme of having a support/Comrade in your life nicely through all the ups and downs :)
This actor Vijay Devarakonda is really good.....especially in the intense and emotional scenes. There's one scene in the police station towards the end when he takes a puff of his cigarette and tells the guy interrogating him that I'm not scared, you are😆.....ekdum natural swagger se kiya....haha
The girl was sweet too.....they have quite a sweet chemistry together :)
The music and the lyrics were all nice too. I thought Telugu movies supposed to be loud and caricaturish in general but this one wasn't like that surprisingly😆
God bless subtitles....lol koi bhi language ho, atleast we are able to watch now.
@bold
Lol AY I'm not sure why you thought Telugu movies supposed to be loud and caricaturish
...But i know where you are coming from
..There used to be some Balakrishna,Ravi Teja,Junior NTR movies which were loud and caricaturish
,where 7 cars would blow away at a time with single whistle or chutki
..Unfortunately they became the block buster hits and caught the attention of north indians i guess and took away the izzat of telugu movies
...But they are not the total sum of telugu movies...They are mass masala genre...no one watch them except the actors's fans..I myself dont watch them..lol
Trust me when i say this,Content wise Telugu movies are better than bollywood ...There are telugu movies which are simple but deep... i remember you describing Gathbandhan show in initial days..that how it has earthy feel to it (something on this line)...Thats how many of the telugu movies are..they have this earthy feel to them..its hard to find such movies in bollywood aajkal...I'm not sure i'm making any sense here..but i'm not able to describe in proper words...lol..
...
I agree that i previously said somewhere with Fary, how telugu industry is male dominated, how few directors/producers are mysogynistic but the telugu movies generally have the story or some substance.. i find few recent bollywood movies superficial and fake particularly remakes..i mean i saw one or two songs of kabir singh, they polished it with high budget, but the acting and scenes looked too fake...where as Vijay was amazing in AR and i never find it fake..And also i saw few songs and scenes of remake of telugu movie "Nuvvostanante nenoddantana"...ie., Ramayya vastavayya in Hindi... the acting of Siddharth was so natural in the telugu movie and also the movie had this earthy feel to it...but hindi one,the actor is so blah and movie also looked so fake and blah..and also they added some item song of Jaqueline fernandaz i guess..it looked pathetic...but telugu one had no such lame item song and was such an amazing family entertainer in telugu..
Hey i'm not saying this..just bcz i'm a telugu girl...i myself cringe at few lame telugu movies..
AY...Few Telugu movies i feel you will definitely like. ..are
1) "Bommarillu" starring Siddharth and Genelia
2) "Ala modalindi" starring Nani and Nitya menon
3) "Ohaalu gusa gusa laade" starring Naga shourya and Rashi khanna
I'm not saying these are great movies...but they are very sweet and simple family entertainers...Bommarillu must and should watch...you will definitely like it...lol
4) "Gharshana" starring venkatesh and Asin...
I liked Asin's character in the movie...
There are many good telugu movies but these are the ones came to my mind now..which i feel like you will like them...lol
And the malayalam movie "Banglore days"...I loved it..you will definitely like this movie..
"Ala modalindi" is available in youtube with english subtitles.....not sure whether the print is good ...Here is the link..lol...Nitya menon was cute in this movie...(*click on "watch video on youtube" ) :
If any Nitya menon fans are there..I would recommend "Ala modalindi" , "Ishq" and "Gunde jaari gallanthayyinde"....These are simple and entertaining...no drama or voilence..easy watch...."Ala modalindi" is must watch...i loved it.."Ishq" was quite entertaining...and "Gunde jaari gallanthayyinde" had good comedy element..And again these are not some message oriented movies...😆...These are simple love stories...lol
@Fary
Regarding Vijay devarakonda, he is really a good actor
....I liked him in AR and in "Taxiwala" movie too....In Taxiwala, eventhough the climax is anticlimactic and illogical, i liked the movie..it is a sci-fi thriller...it was fun to watch...Geeta govindam and Dear comrade i'm yet to watch.. and i liked the songs of GG and DC..
Again regarding Arjun reddy, it is a Vijay's movie...i mean ppl should watch it for Vijay's acting not bcz of lame love story
....During First half ,i was eye rolling at their love story
....Second half was quite engaging..i forgot that i was watching a movie bcz of Vijay's acting...he was so natural...He will make you feel for the character in the second half when he was on endless self destructive path
...I'm not a fan of Docile dumb female lead characters
...She had no personality or any individuality other than being a lover of AR..and the actress had nothing much in the movie to show her acting stills and hardly had any dialogues...So i cant say much about the actress..
Hero's character is so complicated
...as AY is expert in analysing the characters..i feel she would be the best person to review this movie...lol
I went w*f looking at Shahid's acting in some songs of KS...I can feel what you must be going through Fary
..particularly as you are a fan of Vijay...
...Vijay has this confident body language and this natural swag made AR watchable...I watched the edited version of this movie on TV where some asleel scenes and dialogues were edited out..so i did find it neat...lol...i expected worse from the movie based on trailers...but the movie was much better than i expected...
Regarding Mahanati, i had no interest in actress Savitri's life ..i myself dont know anything about her and also Keerthi was not a great actress either in her previous movies...so i had no inspiration to watch...but few days back i saw the trailer of Mahanati...i quite liked it...seems like Keerthi did a good job in that movie...would like to watch at some point..
If anyone interested in out and out light -hearted family entertainers..i would suggest Venkatesh movies..like "Aadu vari matalaku arthale verule" , "Nuvu naku nachav".. The actor Nagarjuna's "Manmadhudu" -1 ( not 2 lol)..I'm not a fan of Nagarjuna, but Manmadhudu-1 was all time favourite of many ppl in those days and it was a good family entertainer...
Sorry for the long blabbering...when ppl are discussing about telugu movies here....i couldnt control blabbering being a Telugu girl...lol..
