I am loving this family moments between them❤️.
Sneha is so cute❤️. I love how he came up with stories to make sure she eats her veggies😆. But she had to stop it and Damn them, flirting in the disguise of veggies☺️.
I loved this update so much. Waiting for next one, but do take your time, update only when time permits, real life is the most important.
Beautiful update👏
The family moment was very cute😊
Waiting for next
nice update. hope all's well.
This is awesome
I love the trio
Continue soon
This sounds like a delicious concept and I can’t wait to read how everything would unfold.
As far as intensity is concerned, I think I love the balance you struck where the couple prods the beast hidden in themselves as well as have a fairly normal breakfast filled with lightheartedness and innuendos!!
I love this story, both chapters are nice. Please update soon
|Chapter 3|
‘We all are just walking individuals confining universe of secrets within.’
~Tanquility.
“I hope things have settled on a better note between you and him.” Inquisition linger through words but Rishabh’s vocals maintained an arid platitude of a sentence.
“It went well. But, I guess it would take time for people to agree with the terms and situations we have put them into. It would take time for him to understand why we did what we did. Your father is a gentleman, Rishabh. I realise who you inherited most of your traits from.” smile stretched across her lips and the pounding heart had fun against her ribs, anxiety coursed through nerves with the flashes of Mr. Yash Bajaj and her one-to-one parley. The lowering centigrades via air conditioner eventually had no effect when tyndall of cauterized sun kisses skin till the tan. Driving through juggled up roads and vehicles heavily crowded was an ordeal with a phone on board and an additional uncertainty groped her heart more disastrously.
“In’t that obvious? He was the only one responsible for my upbringing.”
“I need to tell you something.” her voice wavered with the jolt, stressing her weight upon the brakes followed by a sigh confirming no damages done.
“Are you fine, Prerna?"he asked concerned.
“Well, fortunately yes. Just some idiot overtaking my car and showcasing his un-trained driving skills. Anyway, I needed to tell you something. Actually I wanted to know if you are fine with the case of Menaka and I saving sometime for a casual chit-chat. I mean for Sneha. I would get to understand Sneha better as a mother. Moreover, it's Saturday and Sneha would be with her till the Sunday evening. I could spend a little more time with Sneha before I join you in the office on Monday.” could hear the sharp intake of breath before his voice summoned her curiousity.
“I am fine with everything that makes you comfortable and feel home. You are free to take your decisions, Prerna. You don't have to check on me for that.” came another plain reply, stretching on her freedom and his talk-to-me-if-its-related-to-business-mode was switched on.
“I know I am free to. I wanted to have your consent before proceeding further. Being parents isn't cakewalk. Maybe I ended up doing something I shouldn't. As parents of five years old daughter I needed your part of assurance too before we comply.” her acerbic wits have always impressed him and the dive into logics and negotiation makes her suitable to the profession she went ahead with, an economic advocate. A slight curve twitched up his lips arising to the beauty pits that his cheeks acquainted.
“I can't expect you to be mother within days or take up all responsibility officially. It takes time, I understand. And being a mother to a grown up five year in a blink of day is tedious to deal with. I am happy you are taking up things gradually and true to yourself. I know you and Sneha share a great bond before the wedding too but now responsibilities have grown. Let it settle for good. You would definitely be a great mum to my kid. Have a great day, my lady.” blush crept up her cheekbones whilst she froze bewildered at the endearment. Quite gentleman like but reference does made her feel special in a way to be regarded as his woman.
“You too, my man.”
••••
“Hey, Prerna?” she heard someone call from behind and on turning up her toes she found the expectant source. A woman impeccably dressed, fluid chiffon of flounced sleeves in sunkissed orange peplum dress, perfect for an early evening date in spring. A slight an overdo for Prerna's taste. Her sharply moulded features and auburn maquillaged lips stretched in smile was rather a reflection of Prerna in close outlook.
“Menaka Sharma.” she forwarded her hand in greeting and reprimanded friendly.
“Hey! Prerna Bajaj.” she replied following the suite.
Softly sung opera in the background added to the beauty of white noise gleaming in the Starbucks' lounge. In peripheral vision was a family in mirth and next to them was probably a heart broken teen who continued to stir his coffee in daze. Cafe walls have always been a listener and silent spectator. But so are the people who occupy the farthest corner keeping eye on everyone who surrounds, feeling counted and involved. And at times saving themselves a moment of privacy out of the ruckus we blend in with. The duo aim for the same secluded corner but for the latter purpose.
The tempting aroma of brewing animato transpired the air engaging minds into a warm fantasy served with luscious chocolate muffins. At the desk, was cappuccino half way through the mug lined with milk froth and the authetic olive leaves drawn with drinking chocolate which ironically is a powder itself. “I was Sharma too before the wedding.” Prerna initiated to breach the awkwardness.
“I am Sharma after the marriage.” said Menaka in smiles.
“So you married again…after Rishabh-”
“Everyone needs a closure before they set in for another voyage. I believe in destiny and may be our divorce was for the same account. Didn't Rishabh told you about Nihan?” her doe eyes brimmed up with a joyous glint at the mention but subtly vanished.
“No, we never talked about you except for the part that Sneha spends her weekends with you and that he was once married to you and had a beautiful daughter.” Prerna sang cheerily, enthusiastic to know a bit more about the lady she recently heard of from Rishabh's father.
“His isolating tendency could never cease. Damn, I hate this quality of him the most.”replied Menaka rimming the edge of her cup before shaking her head up in a ignorant shrug.
“So?... Erm...I don't know how do I initiate this but… I guess I need your help. I need your help to know Sneha and...Rishabh better.” Prerna's voice toned down to husk at his mention, her head ducked for an infinitesimal moment and the blush was gone for the notice.
“Oh my God! You love him, right?” Menaka's straightforwarded exclaimation raced her heartbeats momentarily.
“Did Dad told you so? I mean Mr.Yash Bajaj.”asked Prerna fearing of the news dropping in Rishabh's eardrums before she could actually confess to him.
“No. It's evident on your face, darling. You blushed brightest at his mention. And if you by any means shared this little secret of yours with Papa then relax he won't let the cat out of bag in any case, to anyone.” Menaka winked at smiling Prerna, shifting uncomfortably in seat for exposure to her feelings by a first-time-meet stranger.
“Well, on that note, Rishabh loves seclusion from world worldly things and if anything that counts in his life is his people whom he respect, care and prioritise but love was absent until Sneha happened to him. The overrated emotion of love is only reserved for Sneha if he ever chose to accept that it existed for him. You definitely need to pull up your belt and pants and everything that keeps you going for this mission.” the last line hit chord of humour extracting giggles. Menaka glammed up cheerfully,“I hope you can break his walls of persevered seclusion. Get him out the vulnerable gentleman he is from within not the invincible he pretends. You need to make him realise, a husband and wife’s love isn't about some hormone driven pleasure but much more to that. ”
“Why did you left him? You loved him and waited for three years to get married to him and then-”
“Tried to be perfect wife to him and everything that instill his love for me. But I didn't realize why he is what he is until we parted ways. Some events makes you understand things in a deeper perspective than they appear. Our interactions after divorce seem to linger around that event. You know, first time I saw love shimmer in her eyes was when he held Sneha. That smile of his–that was for the first and last time. I left him because I was tired of making him understand what love between us should be and what has it become. Nothing seemed to work. I gave up one day and was eventually accepting the fate.” Menaka dwindled through the lanes of memory when Prerna sat down listening to every word of her all ears,“ When we newlyweds, Papa told me to let him have sometime for himself. He would love me back too but even he wasn't aware what a brat his son is.”
“When the two of you decided to get divorced? Didn't think of Sneha?”Prerna finally let out the curious question that has stuck on her mind ever since Mr.Bajaj told of the fate to Menaka and Rishabh's marriage and knowing the magnitudes of Menaka's love and dedication to the relationship; something stirred her up.
The frothy animato laid untouched, anything about Rishabh Bajaj, her man, sounded better than any worldly thing she would pay heed to. “I encountered post partum depression—that’s underrated in India and everyone seemed to be ignorant including me. Initial days, I was happy about her but gradually developed hatered towards the fact of becoming mother. Sneha was a fussy kid which triggered things for worse and we later discovered about my PPD. I had to move in with my family away from Sneha until I get a control over my feelings. Nihan was the doctor counseling Rishabh and I; until I realised how far we have come from being just doctor and patient to something more. Rishabh tried to understand me but when I got back to our home things took a drastic turn. I gave up on us. I was too tired. I told him about my feelings for Nihan and waited for him to take step as he chose. We moved on through the phase via mutual divorce. Sneha was just two years through. On a mutual consent, her weekends spent with mine and weekdays with Rishabh.”
“The worst thing that can happen to you as a human is to stay in bond that consumes you from within to an extent that when it set you free, you are rather captive by the emptiness of you. Our love for me was like that. A part of me is glad to let go of it before I lost myself in the process. At least I can be there to stand by my daughter and Nihan; and of course Rishabh, as a friend.” Her everlasting grin throughout instilled more respect in Prerna than she had when she heard of Menaka by Mr.Bajaj in the morning.
“You really don't know how much this matters to me. To find someone like you as a sister–hope you don't mind me calling you Di.” Prerna pressed Menaka's hand in a friendly gesture and Menaka blinked back assuringly.
“Make sure he learns to love himself the way everyone deserves rather than the way he despises himself. A man can love back when he has loved himself enough to lose free in your love. Rishabh is a gentleman who simply need that stubborn push. But just don't give up him, Prerna.”

Sorry for my extremely late update, my partner for this story is incurring a very hard time and needed some space. I didn't want to continue to this story until she give a green signal. Due to her absence here, I had to wait for plot further. This is as much as I could come to.
Hope the length of this update could suffice the wait and of course introduction of Meneka into the story. Do lemme know how do you feel about her character? This chapter was mainly to dwell light on Prerna and Rishabh’s understanding and sense mutual communication that Prerna has managed to instill in him.
Like previous chapters, there will always be a new shade of PreRish revealing with every chapter.
Chapter 1 PreRish were wild and revengeous while chapter 2 PreRish were flirty and family people and Chapter 3 PreRish were understanding. Which PreRish did you liked the most?
What shade of PreRish do you want for Chapter 4? May be I can write an update tomorrow too. Hurry!
So so interesting. Their love for each other and for vengeance can be the most lethal combination possible 🙂
That definitely make a great combo.
