As someone from the west - it's safe to say there's no winning. White men hit on Indian women because it's a gross fantasy/exoticism lens through which they view their attraction to Indian women - especially dark-skinned Indian women. And because of the abhorrent colourism that exists in our own communities, Indian men here think bagging white women is the way to go. It's a lot more nuanced than the two sentences I've written, but something about this post title just rubbed me the wrong way and I felt inclined to share my two cents.

She’s not Aishwarya Rai, that’s the point. Indian men didn’t find Mindy appealing because their standard of beauty is Aish, that’s just the colourist mindset many Indians and South Asians in general have.

It's not about the sex. Indian women are no less racist. In fact when they become matriarchs, you'd be surprised.....

Mindy koi bhi standard se appealing face nahi hai. Yes she seems like an intelligent and funny person from.whatever being said about her in the thread and maybe someone would get attracted to her due to her personality, but looks wise no.

We can use the colour thing if someone like Bandita Sandhu, Nandita Das, Sonali Kulkarni and so on are not approached due to their non fair features.

Mindy’s talking from her person experience, white men were interested in her (looks, personality, whatever the reason) but Indian men were not. Just because you don’t find her attractive doesn’t mean no one does

I know right! Everyone knows how obsessed with white men Mindy herself is. She used to cast one white guy after another as her love interest when she had so much power as the writer, lead actress, and producer. She would never give a chance to others - not just Indians but no other minority men either.

She is still thirsting after BJ Novak when we all know he will never marry her.

I can guarantee you with total confidence that she got a white sperm donor to have a light skin baby.

She should be the last one talking considering how badly she wants attention from white men as validation of her beauty.

I didn't said no one finds her unattractive as a whole, just that her looks will not be the highlight, unless the person is exception, not rule, attraction can be from anything. I said her looks are bang below average, even if she was as white as marble.

Also we haven't heard from any Indian man who was near Mindy, so we should take her words with pinch of salt and not assume things. I mean knowing desi boys, woh log Arpita Khan ko na chorre, Mindy toh phir bhi theek hai.

That's what I would think like 5 years ago. But no...it's not that simple. Sometimes white men grow up in white communities with white people doing white people thing. Then they discover people who are different from their world and they get curious. Their attraction may be coming from that interest of knowing and understanding the other...of going into a different world...that's nothing like the one they grew up in....it's not a fantasy...it's a genuine curiosity to experience the other side...it's not always "oooh so exotic" LOL!

If I knew more about say Spain when I was young...a country and culture I love...I might have gone for a Spanish dude LOL!
