I don't care what the writers say, a big part of it was because of Minnie, as well - the fact that Babita was indeed (his brave) daughter ki mother. I don't think he even realized when both of them made a place in his heart and he got attached to them so quickly. He had always felt like a failure because he hadn't been able to help his mother and seeing the way Minnie had rescued Babita and how Babita had in her own way stood up to abuse eventually gave him a taste of potential redemption for his damned soul. He saw a lot of Imarti in Minnie too, and that just bound both mother and daughter to him. Perhaps he never articulated all this because it's too painful or because he doesn't want to go there but we've seen their journey to know it, but Imarti's last appearance on the Uptan evening was the confirmation.

I know those days seem far away, but that is the Babita we were introduced to, who had a quiet strength in her under all those layers of repressed emotions. I don't know why the writers chose to mess everything up but that side of here seems to be buried again.

I also think its proximity. Seeing her everyday in all her elements made him fall for her... It must have been the same for her too. Also, I don't care however the affection must have started, he did ended up falling in love with her. I don't care what anyone says but there's a lot of goodness in her which made him fall for her. Those qualities are not being highlighted right now, and all we see are her flaws left, right and center. I don't know why we don't get introspection to her thoughts and feelings as we get of HS's. Yeah, she didn't reciprocate then, but she was in a different headspace, you couldn't have expected her to reciprocate or acknowledge her feeling given her situation. I will give her a leeway on that.

Well I think he became attached to Mini as well and had an independent relationship with her. I am sure Mini reminded him of his childhood. But, I don't think the proposal was solely because he thought he was gonna be loosing Mini. I think it was purely an impulse decision made on his part because Babita gave him the green light, and he was clouded by his emotions and he thought he would loose Babita, or the second chance in life if he didn't do something then. They honestly could have just dated or gotten engaged for a while instead of rushing into this marriage.

Even NB has pointed it out Babita has a lot of himmat. We need to see that Babita now. Instead of opening another thread regarding Babita's identity crisis, I wish they would just focus on redeeming her character now, and show some good qualities in her. Let her contemplate and rectify her mistakes. Let her make her own decision like she did when she broke off partnership with Khatri. Mini and HS never thought she could do it, but she didn't even consult them, she made that decision on her own, or when she decided to send Ashok away. We need to see that Babita, who thinks through things and makes her own decision.

When we were around 150 episode mark, I watched initial episodes just for that information. Turned out when Ashok returned, there were really few moments when babita and Ashok were alone- there was always lovely or biji around. They were going to watch a movie but lovely (or sukhi) couldn't manage tickets for all, either biji or babita could go- and finally biji went to watch the movie. Babita stayed at home. Exactly!!! I don't know why people fault Babita for this to be honest. It seems like she did make an effort, but her efforts were always destroyed by Beeji or Lovely or Ashok himself. During her outburst she did mention that she thought Ashok will understand her, she thought she would complain to him about her situation, but he never cared for her. That must have really made her not open up to him. And how many times did he really come to India before being in a relationship with Meeta, once or twice maybe. How do you connect with someone in such a short span of time, and also how do you do it when the other person doesn't show any interest. I don't think it was a matter of not making an effort on her end. I really don't fault her for this.

The only thing I fault her for is being delusional that he loved her or whatever when the signs were all there. It also seems because her parents were no more, she must have not had the himmat to leave Ashok.

Of course, the proximity was a major factor - he could see her fit into the everyday routine and it seemed to give him a sense of purpose just seeing both of them. Why we don't see her introspection is the writers' decision but as I said before, there are some qualities in her which aren't being focused on at all right now.

I totally get why she didn't reciprocate and so did HS. It's not that easy to just switch off her emotions and bitterness over 17 years.

No, the proposal was for the whole family, not just for Minnie but she was a major factor both in Babita's and HS' case. Babita wanted Minnie to no longer feel the void Ashok left, while for HS Minnie was the ray of hope he had been missing all these years, the one who made him feel wanted and hero worshiped him the way he would have wanted his father to be worshiped had he been a good man.

He didn't want to lose that opportunity to have Babita in his life when she proposed or let her change her mind for whatever reason. Aniruddh was so brilliant in that scene that you could see every single change of emotion in his eyes.

I think the proposal's timing wasn't wrong but the speed of the wedding was. Anyway, Babita and Minnie need space from each other. Let them make their own decisions and stop telling one another what to do. HS can referee if he has to.

All said and done, I agree with HS that it doesn't matter anymore what or why or when. What's important is how she handles situations in her current life, now that she has been given this second chance as a woman, wife, and mother.

She's had the chance to start fresh so what she makes of it is entirely her doing, for which she must be accountable.

DUDEEEE I mentioned this on the other thread. I have been noticing this person copying all of our posts from here to Twitter. I have noticed so many of my posts being copied word per word and posted in twitter. What the heckkk!!
