You were the reference point but it was for anyone who might wanna come ahead call me names in future. Infact i have nothing against Bengali culture... or any blind faith for my own religion(also which i dont follow). So was just giving clarity.

Exactly, my parents traditions are the thread that bind me to them, my ancestors and my extended family. Not to mention (some of them) are enjoyable as hell. I am not about to give them up to be 'progressive', lol.😆

You know very recently i learned a scientific reason behind keeping navaratri ... and i told my parents next year.. even when i am not religious... i would try to follow the diet it envisages ... for health reasons.

Sometimes i/we think as today generation know everything but its the past ancestors weren't stupid. Certain things had a meaning n purpose which our restricted progressive minds dont understand.
