Krishna’s dark complexion and Radha's Fairer beauty, isn't their unity looking like a shy Lotus with a red tinge hugging the dark cloud , how dreamy that scene is!!?? In a rather conciliatory approach, Krishna is associated with a beautiful color such as blue . Blue symbolizes all-inclusiveness, it manifests vastness and hints at anything that is larger than your perception such as the ocean or the sky!! Most of the Indian Gods such as Shiva, Vishnu, Rama and Krishna are associated with the color blue under this perception. Yes, ofcourse , Shiva got that Blue colour because of that poison which he gulped to save the threelokas from extinction at the time of Sagar Manthan.
The darker shade of Krishna’s skin represents him as a symbol of bravery, wisdom and heroism. Dark color also excels further in symbolizing mysticism and artistic countenance. Krishna is as vast as the sky with a layered and enigmatic character. If we Comb through the pages of folk poetry, it tells us how Krishna was called ‘Ghana-Shyama’ and compared to dark monsoon clouds by and large!⭐️
If we look at the Cave paintings of Krishna and Arjuna, which are the tell-tales of Krishna’s coming-of-age, it represents Krishna as a dark skinned man. In Mahabharata, Draupadi is likened with Krishna and referred to as a dark complexioned woman. Furthermore, in Bhakti literature, the delirious divine energy drove them to liken Krishna with the dark monsoon clouds, mysterious and mischievous.
All said and done, God has a physical presence in the material world. So while wandering through the forests and fields as a cowherd boy, Krishna got a tanned skin. Krishna is pastoral, grounded and human sympathizer, so no wonder he looks like an ordinary human being!!
In contrast, Radha radiates like hundreds of moons with her imperishable juvenescence and golden complexion with a Divine glow!!
Here is Radha's appearance in a poetic description--- Her glance—a combination of dark iris and eyelash, marked with sharp lines of lampblack, and mascara and her long arched eyebrows—were capable of piercing one’s heart more effectively than hundreds of Cupid’s darts!! Her nose, shaped like an eagle’s beak, bore a nose ring encrusted with a shining pearl. Her earrings shone like the bright sun of mid-summer.
Her beautiful sets of teeth shone like pearls, and her unhurried mild smile was pleasing like soft fresh rosebud.
Even a golden crown, full of diamonds, pearls, and gems would be worthless compared to her forehead, adorned with a red mark of fragrant vermillion between her eyebrows and her coiffure decorated with a garland of rangoon creepers, malti flowers, and jasmine flowers!!
Her necklaces, studded and set with precious gems and stones, were sufficient to conceal her neck and bosom together. Her midriff, embellished with a sculpted girdle and a well-adorned deep navel together held splendid beauty!!
The sound of her bracelet, conch-shell bangles and armlet, in harmony with the notes of the jeweled anklets on her feet, painted red with lac-dye, spread melodious vibrations!!!
Rosy crimson-colored nails, flashing more than corals, glorified her fingers, along with the variegated signet ring!!
Despite the messy surroundings amidst grazing cows in the raging weather, her soft dark blue apparel was bright, pure, and spotless like fire. With lotus and speculum, decorated by diamonds and gems, in her hand, my Rãdhã radiated and glorified all directions, as if thousands of moons landed on the Earth at once!!
But Suta , ultimately the Divine Truth is --God is Formless and all forms! Isn't it??!! ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for arranging a new stage to have some more discussions in this Forum--for new thread dear. 🤗
