She’s a vapid shallow woman. That doesn’t excuse Ashok’s hate and cheating on her though.

What it does prove is that shallow and vapid works fine for most men, including HS 🤷‍♀️....

Ashok can never be excused for what he did. He may have felt no connection with Babita after a point seeing this side of her, but he should have asked for a divorce if he wanted Meeta or another woman in his life.

I don't know if it's the writing but what doesn't make sense is that she can be so perceptive about some things while totally clueless about others.

She literally doesn't think about Minnie or HS at all, and the way she put them both on the spot in front of the Ku Klux Klan was just... 🤪

I know she wanted to get back at them both for what they said but the way she did it made her look undignified and in turn her so-called happy family too. I preferred the way she told off the principal during the Manmeet case or the way she talked to Amit Kukreja's wife, or dealt with the factor workers, or even the way she spoke to the judge during her divorce case. She might have been hesitant and nervous, but she hadn't lost her dignity.

I really don't know what's going on. What kind of values will she give the new baby?

And HS? Woh to kuch kehta bhi nahin hai... Why doesn't he draw the line when things go overboard? It is so against his nature. Ugh.

I'm really sorry to say this but I am again wondering if he fell in love with her just because she reminded him of his mother. We don't know much about the late Mrs. DS but my impression is that even if she was not courageous enough to stand up against her husband's abusive behavior, she was still a caring and sensitive woman.

I also sometimes feel he chose her just because she is in many ways the complete opposite of Imarti. She really can't handle his fire and he has chosen to reduce the flame in him to almost nothing. What a shame.

The Principal and Manmeet epis were eons back.

I can’t even remember the last time I saw anything dignified from Babita 🙄....this latest incident was just a new low in undignified behavior. And HS the oh so principled otherwise didn’t have a word to say....just went along with Madam ke orders since she’s “happy” 🙄🙄.....and Mini toh Waise hi is in extra appeasement mode with Babita since her Makkhan ji ka gyaan 🙄🙄

This is the woman who will now birth another child....lovely. 🙏

Anyways, I don’t have patience for shallow, vapid women in the name of “suhagan ki khushi” type crap with sindoor, bindi, pati ka pyar type lame dialogues. Looks and appearance mean nothing when the personality is so vapid 🤷‍♀️

I don’t know if I have much patience with whatever intent the writing has or does not have with her. There is soo much damage to recover from after a point. It’s been proven that Babita learns nothing from her experiences and will stick to her selfish and self absorbed ways in the long run. Her mind can’t think beyond showing off her married woman appearance or her so called family. She will always remains childish and vapid.

What is she perceptive about now? Ghanta

I’m beginning to think he’s just in love with the idea of her and whatever surface level similarity he’s imagined between her and his mother. I don’t think that similarity really exists. His mother probably wasn’t this childish and twisted. So it’s a mirage of Babita he fell for.

Baaki he just wanted a woman’s touch in his life. That is all this marriage is 🤷‍♀️

It’s not about a genuine partnership or support or communication. It’s just about having a woman’s touch in the home.

Unfortunately, I have also begun to feel that it is about having a woman's touch, not living a lonely life in that big haveli. A wife and kid to complete his life is what he looked for, and I don't know how long this jee hazuri will last but I just don't see him getting life-long enjoyment and fulfillment out of this marriage from an emotional angle. The sparks and romance will fizzle out at some point and won't be able to hold this marriage together at this rate.

Perhaps he has decided to compromise and go for a simple easy life, rather than one with deep emotions and passion like he had with Imarti. It's his life, his wish, but it seems all wrong to me. I do think initially he had wanted a lot more, but realized that it may not be possible so is willing to scale back his expectations from her and this marriage. Sigh...

I think she always wanted the status of a wife/being married and living a proper married life and somehow being in this current state helps her feel that she is able to manage such a relationship, that the previous one breaking down wasn't her fault, that she is woman enough to hold on to this marriage and her husband this time. She is still dealing with baggage from her past and so everything she does now is in comparison with her previous marriage. That's why the colorful clothes and look are important to her in contrast with the simple palette we saw her in at the beginning of the show.

There's nothing wrong with being totally in love with HS and going crazy about him with emotion, but I wish she'd see that there's more to life than being a wife. And if she does indeed want to be just his wife, then do it all the way. Not just cooking, dressing up, fasting, having babies, but also being his life partner in every sense. Woh to mujhe door door tak nahin dikh raha.

I don't mind if her growth is slow par kahin se to start kare. When Minnie was try to explain to her that the issues in the business were coming up because she wasn't going to the shop, the look on her face was that of a student bunking class. She just doesn't seem too interested... I feel so bad seeing this.

Frankly, Babita is an escapist. As you said, even if simply wants to be a wife, be a proper one....but she is simply about appearances on all fronts. The cosmetic trappings is all she can think of. The actual hard work of managing relationships, including that of husband wife is beyond her. She takes solace in rituals and shringaar since those give the appearance of being married, rather than actually having to deal with people.

So no wonder she wants to sham away from doing work for her own business. She’s behaving like a lazy bum who can’t be bothered taking responsibility.....she just wants the appearance of things rather than actually doing the work to make something real and meaningful....as if simply acquiring a label is enough 🙄

All her life she “managed” relationships by doing seva....she’s doesn’t really seem to know how to cultivate meaningful relationships....it’s transactional.

With HS, she’s now comfortable in the knowledge that he loves her so she’s showing him off like a trophy. She really doesn’t know how to savor something.

Even when she won that Chef Vikas challenge, she told NB in the next epi that the only reason she was happy about winning it and seeing her pic in the newspaper was so that Ashok would see it and she’d prove a point to him 🙄🙄

So basically she can never rise above this no matter what good things life gives her 🤷‍♀️

Exactly. The signs are already there. They seem to have nothing between them beyond the initial sparks and “romance”....that won’t sustain when life’s real challenges will require partnership and communication.....not appeasement and ji huzoori.

Babita se toh comprehension ki expectation bhi nahin hai but HS bhi clueless hi nikla shaadi ke maamle mein 🤷‍♀️ Lol everyone is treating it in a shallow manner.

To be honest, I don’t think the writers care to show any emotional growth in Babita. It stopped at Imarti’s track and they haven’t picked up from there. If this is how the show is gonna move forward, I have no interest in watching this show. With the entry of Chachi, this is going the typical saas-babu route, and I have no patience for sass-bahu crap. I think this chachi track will actually make me stop watching this show. I will just cherish those 200 episodes.

Even if they had chosen to maintain that level of maturity or growth in Babita, I would've been fine. She has instead been made to reverse in terms of emotional growth.

It's like the little improvement or emancipation /independence they showed has been white washed. I feel so irritated, because this is not the fight or story I invested in.

I wanted to back a single mother get on her feet and become a source of inspiration for her child and those around her.

I can't believe she's the same person who once paved the way for Kammo-Madhu to be independent. Didn't she herself say they've tasted freedom and will surely come back to work with her? Where is that woman now?!

As for the Chachi, I have the same exact emotions. You have a MIL figure, it's NB. You leave your catering business on her shoulders and come do "seva" of your chachi? Bhai, yeah chal kya raha hai?

Exactly! If they had shown her maintain that level of maturity/growth and slowly progressed from there, I would have been fine.

@Bold: Exactly. This is not the story or the character that I invested in. I cannot just watch the show for Mini-HS's bond, or Mini's so called maturity and sensibility, or whatever. As a daughter, she gave wings to her mom, which is great, now the writers need to show how Babita takes that and moves forward. It seems writers are the least interested in Babita's chracter arc, her growth, and emancipation. With 200 episodes, we became attuned with all three characters. They aren't able to maintain the focus and balance to the three characters equally. They get carried away and always gear towards one or 2 characters that the audience is bound to feel disconnected from the rest. The show cannot just move forward when you just give constant focus to one specific character, you have to maintain that balance. I mean just how long do they plan to show Babita like this? 🤔

Even HS wants Babita to do Chachi's seva, I am like okkk ... Typical saas-bahu crap.
