My worry, as I have mentioned earlier, is why is this competition between professional/semi-professional seniors with highly talented youngsters.

If they had made the rule that singers who are professionals (who have been singing in orchestra etc.) should not be considered as a contestant, then it would have been a level playing field for the youngsters, IMO.

I hope I'm not reading too much but I think they'll eliminate one experienced singer and one amateur.

I guess all the final spots are more or less decided (the way some got genuises and some got only distinctions). It is just a question of when and how the extras will be eliminated. The real contest will start only after that.

you are right but finally one who performs at that moment should proceed. Like the one excellent lady singer who sung with harmonium last time rasme -ulfat and yesterday samjavuni vyathela , both outstanding songs - I guess she is doing stage shows but couldn't stand up to the occasion and got eliminated. The man with one hand sung beautifully -main benaam ho gaya got eliminated but both tried to lift shivdhanush.

True but those 'geniuses' will falter once in a while and be up for elimination. As you had mentioned earlier what's the point to select amateurs if they are pitched against professionals.

@Mishkil - Though the lady was professional singer she fell short yesterday. But so did others...hence I think that they are eliminating one of each kind.
