What was ironic was that she was so worried about Beeji and Dadu being lonely at this age, but she didn't notice that they had each other for company. Even if NB was widowed a few years ago, she also needs company now, so even Irfan and Rukhsana wanted her to have companions of her age. What if Babita had never remarried? She would end up all alone in her old age too. The first couple of years of a marriage are usually challenging whether it's a first or second marriage. Hanita have to strengthen their bond otherwise they won't have a proper marriage in order to grow old together.
One more thing... I have seen this happen to widowed people quite often. When they remarry they put their spouse on a pedestal because they are so afraid of loss, they have seen the uncertainty of life so closely that they want to make every moment with their spouse meaningful.
I don't know if this is driving HS to a certain extent but it won't surprise me if it's partly true.
There's a lot of things that Minnie doesn't notice, so I'm not surprised she didn't think of this. I don't know if Minnie thinks of long term matters such as this. Right now, it's immediate matters like her grandparents' living situation.
Given the appropriate time and space, I can see Hanita having a very loving bond.
Maybe. Can't really comment on it right now. Will have to wait and see more of their scenes to make an informed one.
