No it's not. You made an irrelevant post, which had nothing to do with my point to RTH. RTH said it's care what is required to communicate, I said we need a common tool to communicate, which is language. Nowhere my post was asking for a language other than English, to be recognized as the common tool.

And that is why i said common tool is already there - English.

When it is already there , what is this "need of common language" which you were referring to ?

I didn't accuse you of supporting Hindi imposition , i gave you the benefit of the doubt instead.

And FYI , context of RTH's post is " not supporting language imposition" to which you contradicted , to which i cross questioned. Is that clear enough for you ? .. Or do i need to spell it out for better understanding ? .. 😆

RTH's point is basically language isn't important but desire to communicate. My point is if you want to communicate you need to learn a language or a part of it or signs(crying is also a sign, we decipher it as according similar to we need to decipher so many words which carry many meaning), desire aside. Whether Hindi or English or Japanese or even sign language. We do need a common denominator to communicate.

You tried to make it about the usual Hindi imposition, by trying to tell me something I didn't had anything about. And why are you giving me benefit of doubt, when my point was never in that direction. My point wasn't limited to mere fcuking language bigot idiots of India, but of humanity as a whole. You tried to make it like I was saying to RTH, "shut up RTH, India needs a common language to communicate".

Quoting someone,

Our ancestors, from various parts of India have been going to Kashi, without knowing Hindi or English, before locomotive was invented. How did they manage?

RTH's post was idealism at its peak. But you only need to take a look at the very first sentence of her post to grasp the meaning of her entire post. Did she say that the "existing common language also needs to go away" and that "going forward people need to start communicating in sign language" ? Nope , she didn't. Which in turn makes your response to RTH's post utterly stupid. You took the post literally , while her point was something else.

@bold: That didnt come from me , all i was asking is whether it came from you. And it did , albeit unintentionally. 😆

What does these charts tell you?

The entire worlds believes in language as important for national identity.

Ek hum hi hai.. jo english ka randi-rona leke bethe rahenge.

Vietnam is better first thing after getting independence from their french colonizers was to get rid of french language from their country.

The countries that you have shown in your graph are as big as (some are smaller than) my state. Put them all together. There you have our India.

If British had not ruled us, there would have been several tiny kingdoms. After getting freedom from our rulers (just like Europeans), we could have been independent tinier countries. Then each of us could have one language in our countries. That language would have been Hindi, Tamil, Telugu etc.

Let us understand why India is called a subcontinent and cherish our diversity.

joke is on you Mr Kamal Hassan because guess what you worked in this Hindi film industry and you have spoken Hindi and now if you say or pretend that you don’t know Hindi and won’t give enough respect to the language - it’s pure resistance from your end ( for whatever political reasons ) and not because language is new!! Shut up , will you.

Do you realize that every day thousands of researchers are actually communicating with labs around the world using translators or other mechanisms? Did you know that the IceCube Neutrino observatory has scientists that don't speak major world languages? The Antarctic Research station is almost a miniature nation with nothing in common but the pursuit of science. It's not idealism, it is practicality - understanding that some things like imposing a common language on people are not efficient or realistic and the smartest thing to do is work within the existing constraints.

Why are you even doing research if the lack of a common language will make you give up or turn your back on potentially revolutionary data?
