It’s a known fact that after Salman Khan stepped out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah, the project has been put on the back burner. However, the maverick director has not dampened his spirits and has started working on his next project, Gangubai. According to sources, SLB has roped in his Inshallah actress Alia Bhatt for the lead role. Further reports suggest that not Ranbir Kapoor, but actor Kartik Aaryan has been approached to play Alia's lover in the film.
Gangubai is a story about a female gangster who changed the face of Mumbai’s underworld scene. While Alia will play the lead role, the film has some interesting male characters who were opposite Gangubai, while some who also lent her support.
Our sources have informed us that Kartik Aaryan is on the director’s mind to play her lover's role. The actor was also spotted at SLB’s office during the weekend. As per a report in a leading daily, the filmmaker and the actor have already discussed the film and he might be seen opposite Alia. Well, we hope an official announcement is made soon!
