Oh sorry
Oh! You mentioned SS here, i also think of him today, that despite of him being dark character, he was the most loveable character of HP ,just like our RB...
BIG! BIG! Fan of SS...
I couldn't help but compare them after RB's comments about his abusive father....they are so much alike in my eyes in many ways....and I'm also a BIGGG fan of his...i know it's not canon but I ship SSHG more than others😆bcoz she's the most logical choice for him if you think....she's the only one that can match up to his intelligence in that world despite being his student and younger....alas RB has to make o with a (slightly)dumb character here😆
Sorry for referring other fandoms here Shru....last post on it...pakka😛

I always respect your views <3 Bajaj is here to stay I feel, there’s just so much gone in to his characterisation.
He needs healing deep within no matter how much of an iron man he is from outside. That trauma and pain, we saw a glimpse of it it today and I badly want Prerna to KNOW him, like really know him. I am in for that journey!
Its ok re. Dont get carried away thts it 😆

I don't think you should have edited out your thoughts. This is a place where all kinds of thoughts should/need to exist because they make the discussions so varied, complex and interesting to read. I would rather enjoy all kinds of points of view rather than us catering to some basic set.Originally posted by: manzilmukul

Also the tragic hero trope is one of my favorite tropes. I don't know how Bajaj's character is bound to end, but he did have tragic hero's end in KZK 1. I also feel when a writer knows they're doing a tragic hero with a fatal flaw arc they have so many possibilities to explore. You're no longer bound by a karmic happy ending. And you can show all kinds of moral complexities. You can ask questions that don't have binary answers. You can force people to think. You can unsettle and disturb them. And that's the highest mark of any writing. When you can literally pull people out of the bounds of society and force them to question everything they know about right and wrong.
GIRL THIS IS BRILLIANT! AAH. I'm legit loving all analyses today omg.Originally posted by: AllThatCritique
TODAY'S EPISODE GOOD LORD! :D
If I had to say one thing about it,just one it would be : animalistic! Or Predatory! Or Psyched! Or unhinged!
The way my emotions were all over the place when Rishabh's monologue ended,THE WAY MY EYES ALMOST POPPED OFF ITS SOCKETS! RISHABH I THOUGHT I LOST YOU SOMEWHERE THESE PAST FEW WEEKS BUT HERE YOU ARE :D
My primary reason to watch the show is Rishabh Bajaj and I sort of felt validated today lmfao 😂 This is what a good iconic and layered character looks like.
Okay, okay,so much to say but I have a flight to catch in a few hours so I'll be quick!
Two things : Rishabh is Shakespearean tragic hero. Not even close to be a villain. Purely Shakespearean tragic hero. He has a vulnerable flaw anybody can exploit. The way he rationalises his behavior and his limits, you would almost think it's psycho-social pathic but it's not. You see bursts of rage and charm manipulation but you also see a level of protectiveness too which is unlikely in a sociopath/psychopath case. In the end,he is willing to bet it all to remove the housefly(lol) cause that's the family he wants to protect. Its not purely about getting Prerna like Ex wants, its not a selfish ly driven motive. Its a family he desperately wants to keep, with all traces of EX gone. More than the person,he wants the bond. He wants the husband-wife bond,he wants the child-mother bond. He wants that perfect family he never had. And he wouldn't let any Bad Bad Basu even come close.
Secondly, this puts a timer on his character I feel. As with every Shakespearean tragedy he will have a fatal flaw and that will be his end. His mission is now for Anurag to decode. He wants Ex out,by hook or by Crook. Chances of discovery of his manipulative behaviour is more but we won't have that till Prerna falls in love. Nope! From this point onwards,Prerna will believe Rishabh over anyone else ( PLEASE BE CONSISTENT CVS) so he can do whatever but if Anurag ever brings it up with Prerna she will never not doubt him. Its such a masterful move. This gives Rishabh the upper hand to do whatever he wants to Anurag to get rid of him and Prerna would always be like 'meh just like last time ' But the truth will be out. Only difference is it will be out when Rishabh would least want it out. The house of cards has to fall.
The one thing that stuck me most is obviously Rishabh's past.
An abusive dad who had missions for him and punished him for not getting them right.
EXACTLY HOW HE PUNISHED HIMSELF FOR not successfully getting rid of Anurag by slapping himself just like his father would after he failed at something.
Bajaj is still not out of the clutches of his abusive father. His influence is what you can see everywhere. His father's treatment of his mother perhaps reminds him of Anurag not leaving Prerna alone, manhandling her,him and his family not respecting her enough. He wants her out of all that cause perhaps it is reminiscent of what he saw his father do to her. The actions may not be on the same lines, the context is. He does not leave her alone.
So Bajaj makes it a point to give her agency,to let her know she has to stand up for her herself once. She can talk to her about anything except about someone who isn't good to her acc to him, constantly breaks boundaries with her without a warning.
His behavior towards Prerna and Kookie is driven by the need to be different from his father. He won't let any harm come to them,be what may. He never had anyone to call his own so now that he has this family, nothing will stop him from being the perfect husband and father.
This also brings to light why he was so bothered about Prerna thinking that he wants to touch her inappropriately or that he was a creep and a murderer,a liar. Everything that reminded him of his father who is trying to not be. That's why it bothered him to that extent and he will do anything for his trust. Just don't call him something his father was. That's his limit.
THATS WHY WE SAW A COMPLETELY UNHINGED ANIMALISTIC SIDE TO HIM. He is NOT angry not just at ANURAG he is angry at his own father and it manifested everywhere. Like his father,Anurag wants to harm his family and a helpless 6 year old Rishabh couldn't do a thing but this man, with all the power and money and thick skin to take anything will do everything he can to keep his family intact. In Anurag,he sees the same threat now. Again and again, that man has tested his patience.
The small things like the way he was shaking and figgety and unlike himself was all that rage against his father coming up in bursts. Thats how personal this has gotten. He is unhinged because of that.
He wanted his father dead( quite possibly was responsible for it somehow,i feel.) for destroying his family and he wants Anurag dead for the same reason.
Its not personal because it's Anurag, its personal because of his father's abuse.
SPECIAL MENTION : Karan Singh Grover. Incredible. You constantly prove me right when I mention you as one of the best Indian TV has. The change in emotion while switching it on and off as the tangent went haywire and back. Wonderful! I loved it!
Phew! Please CVS. Whoever wrote Bajaj today, give me a raise and let them continue! This is the dark side we deserve!
