The episode was nice but the payoff wasn't the same for me.
First of all, the entire CD fiasco was done solely to create drama for TRPs. As a result of that, Hanita's shaadi was tainted horribly. Neither HS, Babita or Minnie were happy that night and it fricking pains me SO MUCH. This night should have marked a new beginning for them and yet they were all splintered. We were all so upset to see how HS was neglected throughout the entire wedding preparations. But as we saw in the CD, HS composed a large portion of it. So I'm assuming that Minnie had prepared two separate speeches. The first one was for Babes and the fear that she had about losing her. The second one would have addressed HS, the space he holds in Minnie's life, how their relationship has evolved since they first met and how the fears she previously held were dissipated. But we got NONE of that. And why? Because of some petty drama that could have been completely avoided.
Secondly, it would have never taken HS this long to check up on Minnie after what happened that night. Granted, he might not have been able to see clearly on the wedding night itself, but what about the days after? Could he not have spoken to her about it later on his own? Instead, he kept asking her mundane questions about her studies, when he could have questioned her how she was doing. Or, asked her for more clarifications as to what actually happened. It makes me wonder if the CD hadn't arrived, then would he have ever brought the topic or simply gone on to assume that she was quiet and disturbed because of her upcoming exams?
Thirdly, I'm still very shaken by Babita's revelation. The type of behavior she displayed in the first two nights of her marriage was extremely immature and childish. Her fear of him leaving her like Ashok did, did not justify the way she spoke to HS on their wedding night, or how she kept yelling at him that Minnie is her first priority. Furthermore, it doesn't add up with the way she acted before marriage wherein she wanted to demonstrate some rights over him.
Lastly, I can't connect with the characters anymore. I lost touch with Minnie because of the constant overdose we got in the marriage track. She was in my face so much that I've simply stopped caring about her. It's gotten to the point that I've begun to appreciate her when I see her less on screen. It's the same thing with Babita. I get a whiplash every time I see this woman. I have literally no idea how she's going to make me react and that's not a good sign. After 200+ episodes, I should have a grasp on the basic core characteristics of my main lead, but I can't seem to do that because of how much she changes stories to fit her convenience. There's HS whom I still feel for, but even that's being tampered with because of the way he's mistreated.
Overall, I just can't connect with the show in the same I used to. Whether Hanita patch up or Hannie, it just doesn't make a difference to me anymore.
