I saw neena gupta's interview where she says she wasn't getting offers. Even Ratna pathak said she wasn't being offered any roles. This is sad.

This was tailor made for them, be it Neena or Jaya or Shabana or Rathna Pathak or any legendary actress.

I mean a salman, Akshay, Rajini, Aamir, SRK, Ajay or any 50 plus male star can romance, dance and play a young lover boy and hero but once a woman reaches 40 or 50, they can no longer play lead roles, they are reduced to a side role or mom roles or sister roles.

why??

I mean this was tailor made for them, they are itching to play it, they can do full justice to the role yet they are not even considered only coz of their age, thats a big disappointment.

Its so stupid to cast only two barely 30 year olds for a whole life story of women whose actual achievements begin after 60. They could have had Taapsee and Bhumi as the younger sisters and then changed it to actually old actresses when the main story begins. Anurag Kashyap ko peeto sab.

The thing which stood out the most IN SKA trailer was TP and BP acting like old women.

They did good but boy was it looking bad.

They should have casted senior actresses

Ratna Pathak,Supriya Pathak, neena Gupta,Shabana azmi, Jaya bachhan . All of them were so apt for the roles . The trailer looked ridiculous with the bad protsthetic n old honeki acting

I'm pretty sure its more about the commercial value of the movie. No one would want to waste their money on watching these old actresses not like having Tapsee would make any difference either tbh

You ate your own point. Commercial value ka mamla hota toh A listers ko lete. Also if they actually worked with the likes of Ratna,Neena,Supriya,Shabana then project ki credibility bohut bar jaati hain. It would have the Ayushman Khurana effect. And aajkal credibility ka zamana hain.

I remember the makers when they faced backlash for casting Taapsee and Bhumi said they tried to get older actresses but no one was willing... Such liars. Neena Gupta, Shabana Azmi, Deepti Naval, Ratna Patak, Dimple (to name a few) will be more than willing to do such a role.
