This is not the Sanjivani I had built up in my head !

I was in class 10 when Sanjivani season 1 aired and I would buy time from my mom to watch the episode once a week even during my board exams. The love story was fresh and there was something about the show that made you fall in love with every character. The relationship dynamics were endearing, so much so that when the sequel aired as DMG we were thrilled. The show not only lived up to our expectations it took the love for Sanjivani to the next level.

Forward 12 Years. Star Plus announces Sanjivani again. Imagine the expectation and hype. Unfortunately the show is unable to create any impact on my mind. I really don’t get the relationship dynamics of this season and am wondering if they really have any bearings on the dynamics from the previous seasons. So since this is my first post on this forum I would be glad if the forumwaasis here clear some of my doubts.

1. May be I was a child then with no “rishton ki Samajh” but I always thought Shashank had an elder brotherly equation with Juhi. He was protective about her and she could turn to him during all times bad. He was reconciling with Smriti himself and eventually in DMG they showed he had married Padma, who was a nurse. Ofcourse there is no mention of any of the season 2 characters in the current show, so I’ll still give them the benefit of doubt, and ask was I the only one who thought the relationship with Juhi and Shashank was extremely pure, platonic and mostly brother-sisterly ?

2. I’m a little uncomfortable with the idea or painting dignified, sorted and sensible Doctor Shashank as a a Casanova. A man whose marriage broke, then married some nurse, now if he really is Sid’s illegitimate father and also harbours feelings for Juhi, I’m sorry, one of my favourite characters is already dead in my head for me.

3. Anjali always called Juhi didi in the first season. Where is that equation today ?

4. Is this Vardhan related to Simran’s father Vardhan in anyway ? Or is the name just a coincidence?

5. Lastly Rahul and Juhi’s love story was almost as iconic as Armaan-Riddhima’s in the season that followed. I even remember they had almost written in all articles that were published back then that Dr. Juhi would be coming back to DMG but that didn’t happen. Still, from what we see now Vardhan seems to be conspiring with Dr. Rahul in planning something against Sanjivani. Is Rahul the bad guy now ? Is all the love gone ? Yes I’m ready to give it a chance and explore it, provided the story is engaging enough ..

My almost 16 year loyalty towards the brand is preventing me from quitting the show since I feel there is so much to explore but this season honestly has been too thanda. The drama isn’t 1/10th of what Jr was in season 1 or 2. None of the characters have touched my heart yet and it’s sad that this sort of a memory may actually erase the love we have held for the brand in the first place.

Dr sid is not illegemate son of Dr shashank. Infact Dr sid is not son of dr shashank . And neither Dr shashank has any love feelings for Dr juhi. It is just some unreliable source making assumptions article

Because if today and yesterday’s episodes are anything to go by, Shashank does look guilty about feeling something for Juhi !

You are absolutely justified in feeling the way you are.. Actually I am also feeling the same as someone who has followed Sanjivani and DMG all the drama going on in the show actually confuses me and makes the plot of Sanjivani 1 irrelevant for me.. Just like you it's just the love for the brand that's not letting me quit it too early and besides I have started liking the new residents.. Hoping they will reach to the benchmark created by the lovestory of RaHi & Armaan-Riddhima..

To answer your questions..

1.Dr. Shashank has always been a mentor for Juhi more of an elder brother so if in this season they are trying to portray them as a couple it would completely sabotage what viewers of Sanjivani originally had in mind about the dynamics of their relationship .. I guess the cvs are not trying to relate this show to DMG just because it was on a different channel although it was clearly a sequel to this show..

2.Even I am uncomfortable with the thought that Dr. Shashank who was shown as a righteous man in the previous 2 shows is infact a Casanova😆 This character has already had 2 marriages and now maybe going for a third one.. would the cvs give this old man a break now..

3. Anjali and Juhi were separated when Anjali was a small kid and the fact that she has been brought up all alone by her father she can be given the benefit of doubt that she doesn't remember the memories of Juhi or have started hating her for the simple reason that her father has always regarded Juhi as the next best doctor..

4.I do not think Vardhan is anywhere related to Simran although I do want him to be related to her.. It would be an interesting plotline..

5.Exactly as you said the love story of RaHi was iconic but if the makers oof the show are heading in the direction of building a relationship of Dr Shashank & Juhi then this would mean that RaHi was just a joke.. the hardships they faced together are now in vain..

Although I'm ready for them to show Rahul as a negative character who will eventually turn good i still want the relation of Rahul & Juhi to stand .. so that the Sanjivani 1 viewers are not left dissapointed..

Mohnish was excellent as Shashank in Sanjivani.., showing a seemingly stern and uptight professional. His tendency to make jokes, even in serious situations, to lighten up the mood. ⭐️ Shashank's bantering with his doctor friends and his never-ending flirting with Smriti - so much fun! 😳

Rahul - Juhi and Shashank - Smriti were my favorites in S1.. ❤️

But in this Season, CVs / PH are hell bent on destroying his character and making him a Casanova.. who gets married in every season of the show.. 😆

Can't stand Shashank - Juhi relationship being tainted in front of my eyes.. 😭

@bold- 😆 Dr. Shashank yet old has some jawani still left.. I don't understand why the cvs would like to show two character this old romancing😆 rather than focusing on the new ones..

Bec there are many viewers not interested in the dud new cast 🤣 Going by the continuous fall in trp NO ONE IS engaged by non engaging acting esp of the MALE LEAD 🤣 I would watch shashank juhi any day over the comatose acting of the new lot n so would every one I've asked who's not a fandom person from the social platforms 🤪 A mature love story is anyday preferable to the💩 we saw last week for example

The show cannot survive on sp with 0.1 dmg style trps so they will being any twist to bring up the trp currently the show is below the red

Also see intv of sid malhotra he said that star was willing for this season when he approached them BUT they wanted new version with new tracks NOT old continuation they wanted to know WHAT NEW CAN BE SHOWN how many times I've told this but again n again y'all go back to same old song 🧐

Good post...and i do respect the way u put ur points without degrading the new actors...

I'm not a viewer of old sanjivani as well as dmg...initially i was here only for SC...but now i like the show and the dynamics btwn characters...i love the young lot...since i dont have any idea abt old seasons...for me its a fresh take...but at the same time...the comparison u do and ur take... i understand bcoz no one can erase their memory that too loved ones...

and i would like to share my views here...❤️

PS: the knowledge i have abt both shows are based on posts i read here r somewhere else...

1.Anjali- some old fans of dmg said anjali was like this only in the initial epis of dmg...so as per that her character having insecurities r justified...sometimes ppl tend to join the dots juz to satisfy their point of views...the same is happening with anjali... she is hating juhi to justify her state...bcoz shashank always gave the best doctor title to juhi...

2-Shashank-juhi....i dont think they r going to show them as couple...its anjali's take and MU...bcoz as per today epi what i interpret was... he ousted juhi from sanjivani only becoz rahul asked him to do so...he is guilty...anjali was correct in saying he is in guilt these many years but not for the reason she said...but for acting on rahul words without considering juhi's capability...

3-Shashank- please correct me if i'm wrong...i read after his first wife left him he had affair with someone and had son with her...and then in dmg he married nurse padma...so already in his life he had three ladies...so why ppl r having problem in this season...please dont get me wrong...i found this amusing since he was like this only in the old seasons too...then why now this much hungama regarding his char...and i would like to say anjali is very much correct in having insecurities bcoz of him...

PS: i dont have exact knowledge abt old seasons and shashank's personal life in those seasons...so if i'm wrong here please correct me and please forgive me...❤️

The biggest challenge makers are facing with S2 is creating a flawless measuring bridge between past (both S1 & DMG) & present- do navon par pair rakhana (serving two masters), collating parallels with old & new characters and their personal professional journey that has shaped them and their perception.

With distinctive set of audiences from past two shows & present - for earlier audience, the slate is not clean 😆certain characterization & developments seem more like being dropped in the middle of the book & being vague on the first chapter with no idea how it's going to progress as the pages are turned over, certain preconceived notions are acting as checkpoint around preceding characters, their dynamics, equation, chemistry in terms of their earlier iconic relation & benchmark it had/ has set, but for newer viewers its a tabula rasa 😃

The friction between characters is creating variance in viewers, though I feel Shashank Juhi twist is possibly a red herring for TRP- a well thought betwixt & between as Dr Rahul is about to make an entry to convolut future episodes with complexities & undertones of stoking MU, apart from that there could be definite revelance between Sid's mother and Dr Shashank (Aarti Bahl intially played the role of nurse Padma 😔) the rest, its all about creative liberty in competitive commercial platform, best to focus on current,with foot on accelerator the gears have just changed.

Young lot is very refreshing...sidisha r growing slowly but PH r messing old connections .no way old viewers will ever accept shashank and juhi......PH r just using their favs j&s and r spoiling rahul n juhi in this process...it is all wrong....only saving grace for this show currently is sidisha soft growing relationship and young gang..rest medical cases r making show boring and old gang r losing their previous season equations...PH has made miscalculation
