And somewhere I feel they HAVE taken the step for each other as well. There have been innumerable instances to prove that. Yes, Mini's an integral part of the decision but certainly not all of it.

during a second marriage, a child will be a big part of the decision, but not the only part.

HS and babita always cared for each other, even when mini was not in the picture. there have been so mnay instances of this. and they feel for each other, trust each other, like each other and somewhat love each other as well. though they still need to reach the peak of their love.

but this is a fact. A bahu will always be a bahu no matter what she does as in our patriarchal society that whatever she does is her duty and no one needs to thank her as she is duty bound to her inlaws and one who tries to break this law is termed as a homebreaker.

Sorry not able to quote people. Also, sorry if my comments seemed rude. I am just frustrated with certain things, also those tweets are lingering in the back of my mind.

I get that HS doesn’t understand Minnie fully yet. He understand her to the level that she lets him see. I have been the one to point this out. He has a long way to go but he will get there eventually.

I also completely get that Mickey might understand or see through Minnie better than Babita at times. Sometimes your peers, friends, people your age can understand you more than your parents can. I have experienced that myself with my parents. It’s the generation gap. But, to completely undermine Babita’s role as a mother and to say that Babita doesn’t understand Mini or that she never has, I don’t agree with that. If they were trying to show us this all along, I am sorry but they felt to put that message across. What was Babita doing those 17 years when Mini was growing up then? It’s not like she had a husband she was busy attending, which made her neglect Mini, like writers said “she will be self-indulgent” with her new husband now. I am sorry I don’t understand this narrative 😕

And a 17 year old is so mature and sensible that she understands her mother completely. But a mother who birthed that child doesn’t understand her at all. Okayyy 🙄.

This bahu thing toh I've seen and witnessed first hand.

When my Grandmother was hospitalized, my Mom left her job and all her other duties and was just immersed in tending to her, running innumerable errands from hospital to home everyday. Note that my dad didn't take an off from office.

And even today, if my Grandma wants a cup of tea, she'll ask me to make it cause asking a bahu to do something for her hits her huge ego cause the bahu's such an outsider. Inspite of everything my Mom has done for her, she feels that Mom instigates us against her and basically oh my mom's so bad. After freaking 20+ years of marriage and living together. Such a disgusting situation.

I do nothing for this lady yet I'm the best cause I'm her grandchild. And Mom's just no one. It hurts and it's real bad.

In other news, Preet weds Mickey is probably the upcoming track in Preet's mind. She was perhaps already imagining herself in place of Babes.

I know! Ridiculous mindset of girls focussing only on marriage.

I saw Mickey's face, he was like what? Didn't even smile lol. And Mini toh chidhaane mein kitni busy thi. I don't think this is like a triangle. They'll remain true friends throughout their lives with both having different partners.

I hear ya ..

I am married into an amazing family. No complaints against in-laws, but I am always the bahu for them .. my SIL also keeps me at an arm's length, although I used to treat her like a sister (I'm the only child) ..

Learnt the social conditioning the hard way .. Its just unfortunate !!

I blame Rano for conditioning her like this. Barely 18 and dreaming of a marriage of all things. :( Live for yourself pehle atleast!

I think any person that age will have the reaction Mickey had. Who'll think directly to marriage at 18? It was cute in a way to see her dreaming, teenage love and all, but direct shaadi?

no she was wrong too . i had even then said that she cannot hit her teenage daughter like that . and that too without knowing facts.

And there are other ways of disciplining children without hitting. we then basically then teach them its ok to hit others too when we hit them.
