Oh Jean, it's so funny that you logged in after such a long time, only to witness this crap in the form of HS trying to 'impress' Babita by apparently loving Mini. More of sadness there.

Without HS I don't think Minnie would be raised properly at all. What he saw her go through and how he found parallels to his own growing years proves that he treats her as an individual apart from Babita, and not just as a package deal. He didn't need to invest so much time and energy on helping her solve her problems, and in many cases Babita still doesn't know of some of the experiences father-daughter shared together. None of the Khuranas have it in them to do right by her, and without HS, Babita is far from giving Minnie what she desperately needs at this point in her growing years: a strong role model.
I cannot stand HS and Minnie's love for each other be insulted or questioned. I have previously discussed that it's actually ok if she never calls him her father officially or if he remains an 'uncle', contrary our wishes. It's their relationship and their business how they want to be in each other's lives. Isn't that what we've been seeing in PB, about dil ka rishta being far more important than blood ties? True bonds don't need labels and I believe HS when he says he will always love her more than he loves Babita even. He proved it during the Imarti track.
Also, forget everything else, the way he reacted when she was screaming in pain and the whole hospital sequence tells us he's going to be a natural at parenting anyway, and will learn over time what he doesn't know today. If Minnie really is the brave and smart girl that the writer keeps showing her as, then she will understand HS even if he 'falters'.
Yes, Minnie came into his life when she was almost an adult, but to him, she's in some ways a newborn, about whom he doesn't know much. He doesn't know much about his own capabilities as a father just like new fathers don't either - they learn over time. Giving birth to a new life doesn't automatically qualify you as a good parent, and both the absentee father Ashok and the present but abusive Dashrath have proved that. Even if Babita and Ashok did not have a proper marriage, for whatever reason, he has no excuse for not being there for Minnie as a father should.
After reading these tweets I now definitely want Ashok to return so that the debate on fatherhood can be laid to rest. Yes, HS doesn't have previous parenting experience but Ashok has such a lovely daughter who he never learned or bothered to parent. HS might not know the micro stuff about her, but in some ways he knows her waaaay more than any of the Khuranas or Chaddas do or the Khuranas ever will.
There, I said it.

Word... Couldn't agree more.... If they destroy this bond then it will be all over for me to even watch the show...
Not only you but a lot others as well.
Otherwise we have been conned if the last 200 have been all a lie than.
Why so much on Mini all the time.
i think all the fears about butchering HS and babita will come true.
the first sentence from NB made it clear. and then her monologue in the background.
mini ko abhi bahut chot lagna baki hai
and then poonam. and then how the khuranas behaved.
i am not getting good feeling about the coming track.
