Are you guys interested in playing the HP riddle game with a different type of rules?
Following the rules of a famous show, I have decided these set of rules-
1) You will get all total 6 clues.
2) Each clue will be given one at a time and you all will guess with only one answer then.
3) Correct answer in first clue will give you 6 pts. and so on.
4) Wrong answer will give you -6 pts. for 1st clue and so on.
5) You can change your answer if you want upto last clue. And you will get positive or negative points according to your last guess.
6) Those who are willing to play will put their hands up to play the game and they will be considered for the series of the 6 riddle games.
7)Correct answer will be only disclosed after 6th clue. And then the quizzer will declare the answer.
8) Those who want to be quizzer need to prepared with 6 quizzes in a series and inform me that he/she want to be the quizzer this time.
9)Maximum points obtained by the one will be declared as the winner of the series after the completion of 6 riddles and get a surprise gift.
10) Next riddle will be given only after the completion of the previous one.
So these are my new rules. If you guys are interested respond accordingly.
Thank you.
Dadagiri.😆
Oh how I love that show...and the host❤️
I'm up for this, but how are we going to keep up the scores of each player? It's going to be pages long.
Wow, you do watch a Bengali show!! I am both surprised and happy to know this. I just love Sourav's Dadagiri and its toss round gave me this idea last weekend while watching the show.Dadagiri.😆

I don't think it would be that difficult. The quizzer need to be attentive throughout the 6 riddles of the series to make the scorebord.
If Mannu is ready too, I can start. Cuz only 2 of you are active here right now. I will begin the game on Saturday morning if both of you are ready to play. Or if anyone else are willing to play, they need to inform me before Saturday morning.
Only one riddle per two days time will be given.
^ Yes, Dadagiri is the best Bengali show for me, or just the best show, period. I just don't like the daily soaps.
Btw, on that show, the participants are allowed to skip answering in the clues in between the first and the last one. Do we have similar rules here? Also, I think it would be nice if we get to solve the riddles the regular way if no one has been able to come up with the correct answer during the clues round. What do you think about it?
Alright, whenever you are ready with the riddle.
Nah, here you need to answer in every clue. Yes regular way can be done. But to start the game, more responses are needed. Else it will be of no use.^ Yes, Dadagiri is the best Bengali show for me, or just the best show, period. I just don't like the daily soaps.

We can still have a regular riddle. The CC is rather silent these days. I'm starting to miss the old regularity and active conversations we used to have here.
Yeah, then I'll be back with a riddle soon. Have you read any book? I have just completed reading Bibhutibhusan's Pather Panchali and Aparajito. These two books are a series of Apu's life. And I must tell you these books are a piece of gem I have read in recent times. Please read soon if you haven't. I am still in awe with this book. In one word, BRILLIANT story telling by Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay. We can still have a regular riddle. The CC is rather silent these days. Yes, I'll be waiting for the riddle.
I have read a Hindi book the last week. Premchand's Nirmala. It was a sad story, as I have heard most of his stories are, but it was still such a good story. I had tried reading it a few months back but found it rather boring but now I wish I had read a few more pages before abandoning it. You should definitely give it a try if you have a taste for such stories. (It was my first and I liked it.)
You definitely are on a Bengali novel-reading marathon, aren't you?😆 And with your reviews, I'm starting to get quite interested too. I think I'll just have to read the translations until I learn reading Bengali properly. It's no fun reading a novel at snail's pace.
Ok, do english version of the book available? And I will check goodreads for its plot idea. But you can share its plotline and your reviews, so that I can think to read or not.Yes, I'll be waiting for the riddle.

Yes I am on a reading marathon at this point of time. Good books definitely refreshes your mind and I haven't read much of bengali books before. And now when I am reading these novels, I now realize what I've missed. From the childhood days, Pather Panchali is known most to me as Satyajit Ray's movie, but when I read it now, I become an admirer of Bibhutibhusan's writing so much. Specifically, its second part "Aparajito" is my most favorite novel/book of all the times. It will take you through the journey of Apu, the one who remains undefeated among the hurdles of life. The book showcases the pain once you lose your loved ones one after another, yet you have to move on. This book is so good and every pages will make you tightly bound to the story.
Now I am reading "Adarsha Hindu Hotel" by Bibhutibhusan himself.
Diya, what I think, you can start read translations if you really don't want to miss read such great stories. But if you can read Bengali ordinarily, you can read these books cuz Bibhuti's bangla are very easy to read and understand and there are no two different meaning embedded in a sentence.

I think I'll try the Hindi translation since I believe that Hindi is much closer to Bengali than English can ever be.
I rated it with a 5 star on Goodreads. It was my first try on Hindi literature and it was exactly the type of work I would expect from such a celebrated author as Premchand. It is about the trails a woman faces in the Indian society. It wasn't a cheerful story at all but reading the plotline of Apu's story in your post, I think you might enjoy it. I was actually stunned at how forward Premchand was. For a story written in the 1920s, it didn't feel like that at all. You can still relate to the story if you have some idea about our society, especially the poor or the rural ones. He takes a stab at malpractices like dowry, exploitation of village poor, mismatched marriages and its consequences.
Do you read ebooks? If so, can you semd me the link from where you get these books. I'll see if I can read the Bengali easily enough.
Can you add me on Goodreads. I will get better recommendations that way. All I get now is Vampire stories and Wizard of Oz, just because I have read 7 Harry Potter books.
