The reason is because this season they built up the anurag-prerna love story more whereas they fell in love and broke up too quickly in the first season, so fans of anurag-prerna are more attached to them this season, anurag this season is far more likeable than the first season and has not been ruined thankfully to justify bajaj, plus the shows ratings were still good at the beginning of the show although not incredibly high like yeh rishta and bhagya shows before they brought in bajaj, but honestly the bajaj track this season has only ruined the show given they made prerna look stupid and unlikeable even by boring female lead standards just to put her with bajaj. The bajaj track just has not worked this time and this new bajaj has zero charm compared to ronit roy's. The show is super lackluster.
I don't know how appropriate it is to discuss abt KZK2 here, but I would actually disagree with the point of fans being attached to Anurag-Prerna 'more' this season. The first season's Anurag was super rotlu, absurdly spineless got married to THREE OTHER WOMEN other than Prerna and YET that show from the beginning to its end remained about Anurag & Prerna, people were invested in there story, as characters, even more than Cezzane or Shweta or Rohit and later Jenifer or Karanveer as actors. The first KZK was a lot more 'complex' when compared to the new KZK.
Also, I feel as thou the first season of KZK had a lot of 'novelty' a LOT of things that have become ITV mainstay NOW where not as such when KZK first started, in fact the show was quite a trendsetter back in the day, ( I don't know in a good way or bad way, but it definitely created long lasting trends) for example:
1) the overtly under-dressed 'Vamp' with background music,
2) Hero's watch (ETC) getting stuck to the dupatta of the heroine (Yes, although it seems like such a cliche now, it was actually originally a scene between Anurag and Prerna)
3) Main leads getting married to everyone else BUT each other
4) the constant separation and reunion of couples in the show,
5) the main leads having a kid or the possibility of a kid right before a time leap,
6) questioning the said child's paternity and also that child being the thread that re-connects the parents back together,
7) also the child's death being the ultimate cause of separation for the parents.
All of the above tracks were most definitely unique when KZK began and used them as a part of its shows. Now, that I think about it both the Bhagya's as well as the current track of YRKKH hai are STILL utilising the same troupes. But the new KZK DOES NOT have that novelty anymore. It is definately creating trends in terms of fashion, but story-wise the not so much. The show has over stretched its budget by using big name actors instead of taking its time to build on characters.
