Writers have got difficult job to justify accident done by someone else and not RB, which he may know.

One good thing, RB at night looks relaxed n having drinks as per BTS. Means either P still angry/miffed with him which he overlooks like always or she is convinced by his explanation if he had given to her.

But in his monologue he is apologetic about leaving him on the road and not helping him. He left because of the crowd.
