I do like to say something though. If A did do this and I'm saying IF just in case even though the past week I've been saying he will harm himself to frame bajaj lol. IF A did do this; it reminds me of people who are on drugs. Drug addicts become so addicted to drugs they don't realize they are killing themselves and ruining their relationships with their close ones such as friends and family. They don't see the damage they are doing.
A has a family. A father who is sick, a family who loves and cares for him. A business he has to run. Can you imagine the pain and suffering he put his family through while doing this. He could have been killed or paralyzed. All this just to get a girl and score points. Blind to everything around him. During the aarti scene he was so preoccupied with bajaj and P he even asked Anupham to get his father. So much for being the best son. It's just messed up
I get you. But I think the comparison is ill fitted here because it needs a wider perspective. One can equate drug addiction to self harm only when the person suffering has no real motive other than release their feelings and as they say 'feel 'normal' again.
But what Anurag is doing IF he actually did this goes way beyond that and perhaps a little bit too telling and deep analysis of a TV trope. His self harm has motive. Very specific motive to get the girl. Its pure emotional and psychological manipulation of the highest level. Its abuse. It would put him in the ranks of those majnus who can't take no for an answer and rejection of any kind and would threaten to cut their wrists just to emotionally blackmail people to accept their proposals. A very stark reality in India today. Like I said, way too deep for Indian Television 'sensibilities'. So I feel the drug addiction and self harm which is usually beyond the control of the person is a lil ill fitting in Anurag's case because he has clear motive and cunningly plotted it.
Ofcourse all this IF he indeed do it.
