Actually it was shown in the episode. She was trying to take the cotton that got sticking in the belt and while doing that the belt was moving and her hand went under. She was shouting my hand and the belt stopped for a few secs and she took out. She and Sherin were applying some cream or something in the bathroom and that is when sandy stole the cotton for the third time and they came running from there.
